He truly did, took every bit of explosiveness away from him and asked him to play patty cake instead of penetrating or rushing the passer. Kid was never going to be a clowney type talent but he still should've been better than what he was.
 
Claasic tweeter who golden wanted to make a 3-4 end...lost what he did have with weight gain ....Safe to say he. Wasn't a fan of the staff. He's been killing them since leaving. His optimal weight should of been 255-260

We had Chick playing DE/DT and now he's playing OLB? lol Way too much weight for the kid to handle because they couldn't recruit a half decent DT.

Miami doesn't need huge guys on the D line. Speed on the line creates penetration that lead to sacks and tfl. No need to fatten guys up. Just get them stronger and quicker and let them live in the opposing teams backfield.

Look at Russell Maryland, came in over 300 lbs. His last year was 270 and an absolute monster.

Joey Porter and James Harrison are two gentlemen that I wouldn't want upset at me. I'd add Porter to our staff in a second.
 
God, Golden was so awful! Wish he had taken Fat D with him. Worst coaches EVER at this school. They took a program that was in bad shape to start with and made it just abysmal. Problem is, I don't expect these BOT morons to get anyone who is much better. Feel sorry for the kids who played here under Golden. He's cost most of them big bucks. What a bum!
 
But still people shatt on this kid over and over to protect Folden. Wishing him lots of success in the league.

RM is the quintessential example of how speed > size.

Let's hope that Flake and the BOT learn from that mistake to hire a someone with an outstanding football mind and the leadership needed to motivate players.

Golden was so concerned with his dumb, made up hodge podge defensing scheme that he forced this kid to be something he isn't.
