I actually love Chicks, just not Chickillo's college game... he got more snaps than any other player on defense and produced the least regardless of the bullchit coaches we had. that's the truth, not hate.

Yeah, right. The Steelers drafted and signed a speicial teams coverage guy to a 4 yr/2.3m contract. Lets disregard the fact that Mike Tomlin is on record (before the draft) saying that Chick would be converted to an outside linebacker after watching his pro-day.

For the record, Golden's only non dumpster fire season was 9-4 with a bowl loss. Richt had a 9-4 bowl win season and a 10-3 division title winning season. In his first two seasons, Richt eclipsed anything the Golden ever did here.

If they would have asked him to transition to a full time LB in college, he would have never seen the field.... btw - He played at 250 in year 2 and also sucked. He got lucky in prepping for the combine and literally tripped into his current position in the NFL as a role / ST player. that's the truth. he can not blame the ****head coaches for the position he played in college... now, the ****** *** defensive scheme, is open game!

You continue with this dumb narrative. Chick was already a 5* explosive DE when he came in. When he left Miami, he transformed right back. The only other variable was Grohlden making him add weight and move inside.

I don't hate Richt because of religion. I don't "hate" him or Golden. I just think it's odd that Golden is universally reviled while lots of fans think Richt resurrected the program. I think it boils down to 1 game- Richt won 10, Golden won 9. If anything, I think Richt being religious and affable is one of the main reasons his tenure is viewed much more fondly even though I think he underachieved just as much as Golden did, especially in recruiting since Golden did it all while expecting the NCAA to give us the death penalty (you might not remember, but that was almost certainly going to be the penalty if the NCAA had not tripped on it's own **** and blown the case)

Richt did good here. What he did off the field i think the program needed. And I’ve said so. What he did on Saturdays, tho, was not good.

BOT was trying to avoid the death penalty for the Shapiro scandal so the Miami BOT prevented Miami from playing in the ACC championship game (neither NCAA nor ACC stopped us). If that hadn't happened both Rick and Golden could claim to have represented the coastal in the title game.

No. Not exactly. He wanted to be a 4-3 (get after the QB), DE, not a 3-4 (2 gap read and react), DE. No D and Golden fattened him up and made him the latter, which basically is equal to a 3 tech. in a 4-3 defense. That extra weight and the uhhh "scheme" we ran took away his explosion. Now he's lost the weight and got his explosion back. He's an OLB (3-4), which is about the sane size as a 4-3 DE.
