Chatfield to osu

He just committed to osu.
I really think the canes should have offered him, he is the best pass rushing de in south Florida.

Best past rushing guy in high school doesn't always translate to great success. This is the case going back to Marcus Robinson and to some much lesser extent, Chad Thomas now.......who while good, hasn't exactly lived up to all the hype.
Marcus Robinson was pretty ecent with the canes, he never had trouble rushing the passer and could get after the qb. Chad thomas had 1 year with great coaches in which he was very productive. People who don't know football say he had a bad year because he only had 4.5 sacks. It's much deeper than that including his play against the run, 11.5 tackles for loss and causing the tackles for loss opportunities for other players

Chad Thomas has been a solid contributor thus far but he hasn't lived up to the hype of being a 5 star.

Period.

What high ranked dlineman or defensive player did under coach goldens staff?

Well that's a positive. Maybe we have a better shot at Parsons than we thought. Hope he's at Paradise Camp.

Why is that a positive for Miami? Do you guys think Miami isn't a "top school?"

I think given the last decade or more, a number of recruits probably see Bama, O$U, F$U and now Clemson as the top schools. It seems like that's what he's referring to. We'll get there starting with winning the Coastal this year and then, I'm certain, beating F$U and winning the ACC the following year.
Uhhh
I would agree, seeing as how you just rattled off the last 4 national champions. Then yeah "top school"

We still lead. Coincidentally his sister came by my crib right when I was talking to him. Both confirmed that Taint is still playing catch-up... Anybody else wanna act like I can't get to bottom of **** when Ty's concerned?!?! One thing we gotta remember is Drew doesn't have his U offer...yet. If/When he does, I'm positive he'll flip.

Great news. Thanks for the update.

I'm gonna drop cuz a text or call him later on this evening to get some real insight on how much he likes Taint. As far as Drew goes, I've stated my opinion on here many times. When he wins the DL MVP at Paradise(He will, book it), I'm thinking Kool can't help but offer him then. Height and timed runs be damned, that kid has arguably the best pass-rushing skills in America. Kid can come in freshman year and get 10 sacks as a specialist in a "NASCAR" package and going in while JJ, DJ, or Garvin take breathers. He has long arms, which offset the couple of inches he lacks vertically and although he's 15-20 lbs. lighter than the template, he sets a **** of an edge in the run game. On the field, camp settings, kid just dominates whoever lines up across from him. He's not feasting on bums either. AH is a national powerhouse that plays top-flight teams from across the region, state and nation. And all the guy does is kick major ***. Porsters love to talk how the production won't transfer over to college. But riddle me this, if the majority of the guys he's smoking out there are FBS prospects themselves, what does that tell you??? ****, in practice alone he's been going against top P5 prospects(including one that we all hope to be a great one)since his freshman year(made varsity before cuz, Pat and the rest)and doing em dirty the whole time. I've seen Drew embarass TJ and Kai on numerous occasions. Right now at least 4 of AH's o-line is going FBS. They can't do anything with him... Sign the kid up gotdammitt!!!!

A.C is the truth. Obviously I'm not able to watch all of his games like you have been, but everytime I watch his film I become more and more impressed. AH is playing top competition, and this kid was a sack machine.

I remember there was a rather shorter DE coming out of Syracuse named...ummmm, yeah...Dwight Freeney. 6'1 DE who made every single player look stupid w/ that first step and pass rushing move. All he did was sack the QB. Freeney did have 4.5 speed, but it wasn't his speed; it was his quickness of the ball, coupled w/ his pass rush skills. A.C. gets off the ball and has extremely gifted pass rushing skills. Unless I'm going to use him to chase down WRs or TEs, I don't need him to run a 4.5. I need his short area burst and his get off to be elite. That's what I see w/ him. That's why I want him and still want him. If T.C wasn't in the picture, I would say the same thing. FURTHERMORE, we need to break this AH pipe wide open!

Chatfield is starting to feel like this year's Mike Harley where this board was screaming for an offer, it finally came and he decommitted/flipped. Let's hope Chatfield shows out at Paradise and gets that offer sooner.

Thanks for the info. I hope you're right. Some of these South FL kids hold grudges when we don't offer first, not so much other schools, just UM, lol. Either way, with Chatfield I see the same thing you do. Kid is a baller type who will just make that one crucial play on pure ability.

I couldn't agree more. I kinda backed away from the Freeney comparison because of the straight line speed but Freeney ran a 4.38 before the draft so **** near no one compares to that. But the kid has SPECIAL tools in his pash-russ ****nal and he's a ******' maniac!!! Like I said, put your Blue-Chip OT in front of him and watch him struggle to keep a hand on him...

Slow playing a top DE who could lock in two other elite kids is ignorant . I don't care how you try to spin it

I'd say more like bandy since it's still early but I was thinking the exact thing, the board is screaming for an offer I think he gets it.

Yup... Same thought but Bandy is probably a better comparison because Bandy was offered earlier than Harley. I think he'll get the offer too and it won't be as late as Harley. We need to shut the Bama's and O$U's down and out here. We can do that by getting the kids we should be on and staying on them. We can't give people like Meyer and Saban opportunities and room to breathe where we can help it.

He just committed to osu.
I really think the canes should have offered him, he is the best pass rushing de in south Florida.

theyll regret it.....

Just as good as Brian Burns an all acc type guy last year.

Again...Im wayyy high on Chatfield than the Rousseau kid..

Lol why would the staff regret it if we already have stud des on the roster?? And Brian Burns ain't doing **** in comparison to who we have, nobody's losing sleep over Chatfield committing to OSU.

What? Burns had 9.5 sacks as a true freshman last year..

Most of these idiots don't watch games outside of Miami games.

What does his sack count have to do with my post? I said he's not better than who we have on the roster, nobody living in reality cares where Chatfield ends up and I dont give fck about Brian Burns.

Let Campbell and package deal go to OSU! We made them a priority but they went with the safer route due to OSU success with Myers. Just remind them the truth on who produced the best players Ever. Jobe, DJ Ivey and kid from Gables can ball too.

none of what you said is true...NONE. *SARCASM*
You know where I stand with it. I don't even take these posters serious, their the same if we offer that will be d*ck riding. I'm the one that brought the names Tyson Campbell, Nesta Silvera to the board 2 years ago...I seen him Chatfield do whatever he wanted to...to Herbert and Slaton. Herbert a guy a lot of fans on here think or expect to be in our two deep.

The "Top Schools" are the schools that the kids have seen in the playoffs the last few years and have pulled in a Natty, IMO.

Chatfield is either another Elvis Dumervil or Toolbox Harris. Either way, he'll at least be a good college player. I get the feeling he'll force Kool to offer him at Paradise if he's the type of winner I think he is.

His measurables are bad, but so are his intentions.

Spot on ceiling/floor comparison Chise. Though at worst I would expect him to be Toolbox 2.0...

I wouldn't mind another toolbox on the team
