Diaz was DC and coached LBs... So no that itself isn't a valid excuse.

If Heatherman doesn't have Wiley developed and contributing that is an area he failed. Period. Idk why y'all think Heatherman can't possibly do anything wrong? Lol. ... There is no excuse not to Have Wiley ready to start. Thats just how I see it. If Chase is starting over Wiley it's a fail on the staff

Agreed. We need to push to retain Popo.

I just meant I feel better about our overall LB situation if Smith gets another year.
 
Been waiting on 41 to break out. He is a physical freak. He looked his best so far in Hethermans D. If we dont retain Popo or get another LB in the portal, he could be getting meaningful snaps behind Mo. Would love to see him back

I’ve wanted biles but we can’t control the schedule would like to raise the room with an impact player.

Bro you just compared Chase smith to Bobby Washington as players 😂. Smith has played for 2 years as a rotation piece vs a guy who couldn’t get any PT or special teams.

What makes you think Bobby Washington could do better than Chase smith?

Yeah, if Wiley isn’t ready game one, we’ll need to send Heatherman packing. Perhaps blind faith, but trust him till further notice.

We should have went all out for Biles man. Would have been a Gigantic upgrade to this defense.

I said Bobby and Wiley are ceiling raisers. Which they 100% are.

Sounds like you think this is just like the video game where they have a higher dev trait vs chase smith.

But as a rotational back up. I’m taking the guy who has played for 2 years in the ACC and I can count on vs hypothetical “ceiling”

i was gonna reply you with this same logic ... i personally don't sees a huge difference between chase and popo ... but i agree 100% with making defensive adjustments to help lb play ...

on a different note, who did you think we should pursue out the portal? my only choices were biles and ulaeve kid from cal and both would come with a huge price tag ... do you spend the money elsewhere, say qb and dline or chase a position that already gave you good production on a national championship caliber team

See I am literally saying I have zero confidence he won't be our starter and will "just" be a rotational backup.
