Charlie Strong is

Anyone with a brain knows that Texas situation was a total disaster. Not a single player was drafted from UT last draft, so it's gonna take time. That said, you can't get gaped like that if your Texas. Strong better start showing some progress sooner rather than later.

We should just go get Clint Hurt. Without him Strong isn't that great of a recruiter. He is the same as Golden as Texas has out recruited Baylor and TCU every year but Texas will get blown out by both.

Considering that not all the Billionaires liked him for the job I agree he is on the hot seat now. He better get $250,000 and go and get the best Juco QB next year or it will be over. Their QB looked so bad on basic plays. How can Texas miss on QB's 4 years in a row?

Begs the question. How good is Charlie Strong at Louisville without Bridgewater? The guy got them a Defense for sure and some skill guys but Texas has all that now but a really bad QB.

I'm always amazed at how our fans manage to hold every coach in the country to high standards except our own
Sickening.

False premise guys. Some of us are just so sick of mediocrity that we hold all the corches thrown around here as dream replacements- the Strongs, the Kiffins, the Leaches and even the Cristobals- to a real world standard and not one of a downtrodden fanbase looking for salvation anywhere.

Right. So sick of mediocrity that up until this off-season, you supported Golden. Shall I find the posts?

His Louisville teams looked more like Miami teams than any Miami team since 2003.

I'd take him in a heartbeat.

Seriously.

These dudes keep talking about "Bridgewater made him look good" but they forget that his defenses were nasty and his squad was loaded with NFL players.

Go for it.

He had Teddy Bridgewater. Anyone (except maybe Golden) would win with him. He is already doing very well in the NFL. Teddy got him that huge contract. He's being exposed now.
Folden had a Teddy Bridgewater and 7 NFL draft picks last year and won 6 games.

Remember the last time Charlie Skrong faced Folden? Remember how badly he humiliated him in every phase of the game?

Hard to win anywhere when your QB can't run or throw. That QB is beyond awful. On top of all that, the big bull boosters at Texas were against this hire from the beginning so Charlie has been fighting his own people since day one on the job.

This fan base was making excuses for Golden while Kansas State and ND dismantled him in his second season. They were excusing him getting blown out and run all over by FSU, Duke, and VT in his third season. They blamed NFL players for his disastrous, historically bad, fourth season. Pointing fingers at players while Golden gave up 6.5 light years of rushing to Nebraska. Begged for one more year while he dropped games to middling ACC teams like UVA and Pitt.

So I have to laugh when they sling **** at guys like Strong in his first game of his second year at Texas. Maybe if our fans held our own coach to such a standard we wouldn't be stuck with his fat goofy *** in year 5 of **** on Earth.

Throw Golden out of the equation for a minute. I don't get why some of you guys are so high on a guy that got his shot on the big time stage and is failing? You really think he'd kill here with a MUCH less football enthused administration and almost equivalent recruiting grounds with no Clint Hurtt or Bridgewater? I don't see potential greatness in a guy that hasn't made Texas a single bit better than if they had just kept Mack Brown. I'd sooner take one of these "up and comers" that people are always suggesting than a guy that flamed out at a football crazy school with an unlimited budget in an extremely fertile recruiting ground state.

Anybody want James Franklin too?

he might not last the season. their experiment with a black head coach will be over.

happy if he was named head coach of miami.

Agreed.

Without Bridgewater, his records as head coach are 7-6, 7-6, 6-7. With Bridgewater, 11-2 and 12-1. Yes, he gets credit for Bridgewater and yes, he's much better than Golden who would go 6-7 with Bridgewater.

But I do not understand why people are making him out to be a great coach already. At best you can say it's inconclusive so far as to his head coaching ability.

I will say that Texas did not look as if they improved at all from last year based upon their level of play yesterday.

I haven't thought about if he was the head coach at UM or not. It was stretch a school like Texas hired him. But he was a top choice and they almost couldn't ignore him. I'm sure there are many at UT who didn't want him b/c he is black. So, now they can say they hired a black head coach and we won't see one there for a long time.

Funny how His detractors wanna post His 7-6 records, but don't take the time to look at what a $h!tty job His predecessor (Kragthorpe) did with that program.
Point blank, Strong SAVED Louisville after Kragthorpe CRASHED that *****.
And LMAO! @ He only won because of Teddy B., as if Harbaugh was posting 10-11 win seasons before Luck got there/stepped on the field...FOH!

I'd love to see proof of any fans doing this. Most fans were pretty ****ed at the coaches all of last season and wanted him fired. Some moved on to support the team once they realized he wasn't getting fired but I haven't seen one person on here "begging for one more year".
