Chad Thomas visiting FSU this weekend

I'd also like to think that Chad would recruit for us while up there. I don't know who all is going for the FSU visit this weekend with him that he could try to sway, but if I'm FSU--I'm less mad about the free trip, and more concerned that Chad would be trying to use his status as a pulpit to recruit for Miami from.

Didn't Chad say something at the Under Armor game to the effect that he doesn't try to recruit kids for UM and that he let's kids make up their own minds?

maybe people he doesnt know. but im sure he had a few words with treon

Hate to be negative, but anytime you visit there is always a chance to flip. Simple as that. Is not like Tallahassee is the great destination to visit, there is some interest there.

hes all cane and has said it a hundreds of times.

Not sure what his plans are, but with a music degree from the U he could go far, very far. Enjoy it #99, best to U young man.

@Wingz...yeah he said that, but I'd hope at this stage in the process, that if someone were on the fence and talking to him he would at least try to share why Miami was the right choice for him...even that much could help to sway a kid this late in the game.

We have the music school going for us, but I wouldn't put it past those boosters to offer him his own studio in Tallahassee with P. Diddy as his own music teacher.
FSU has an excellent music school. I don't know who ranks highest but they are one of the better ones.

FSU's music program is actually rated higher than ours, but they don't have the specific major he is looking for, we do and it's #2 in the nation.

If this dude flips I'll lose all faith in humanity

If this dude flips, Diabeetus Gut's NSD press conference will be more depressing than last year's event.

Don't count on it. He's made it clear more than once that he does not recruit other players. In his words, each recruit should make the decison that is best for his circumstances.

The tough guys on here with their **** Tracy granite chins might not be worried, but I guarantee you that the fat man is oozing salami grease from his pores. It's NEVER EVER a good thing to have a commit visiting the fat man's boss Jizzbo especially after all the whispers behind the scenes that he was reaching out to fsu. How many times is Jizzbo going to have to own the fat man before you tough guys start realizing he's in charge right now?

Your recent canon of posts is starkly self-indulgent. I don't care to lament other posters, but your decline seems bottomless.

Whether you agree or disagree with this post, it is very well-said.

I agree with the belief that this is just a free trip, but it can't look too good to outsiders/potential commits. Now is the time when you want to be securing commitments and tying up loose ends. Its just a bad look when your top recruit is visiting your in-state rival who also just happened to win a Natl Champ 2 weeks before NSD.

Current UM commitment Chad Thomas to make final decision after official visits to FSU, Alabama

Chad Thomas went to school draped in University of Miami green on Tuesday.
But in the coming weeks, he’ll be seeing some darker shades of red.
Thomas, the Miami Booker T. Washington five-star defensive end who has been committed to UM since this past July, will be taking official visits to Florida State on Friday and Alabama on Jan. 31.
“Just making sure I’m picking the right school,” Thomas said in a text message to the Miami Herald Tuesday morning.
Thomas also said both FSU and Alabama are coming after him “major” – and he will make a final decision on a school on National Signing Day on Feb. 5 – but he remains “100” percent committed to Miami.
Thomas has been UM’s best recruit in the Class of 2014, and the most solid. But to a class that has seen Travonte Valentine, Nigel Bethel II and Brandon Powell decommit in recent weeks, the visits are unsettling.
Thomas, who was roommates with current UM enrollee Braxton Berrios during the Under Armour All-America game festivities during the last week of December leading into the New Year, said the two became very close during their time together.
Thomas said the two shared the same sentiment regarding UM after its loss to Louisville in the Russell Athetic Bowl on Dec. 28.
“In our minds, we said we’ll do what we got to do to make a better program,” Thomas said.
Added Berrios: “We want to win. We want to bring back that tradition to winning 10, 11, 12 games a season is normal.”

Anyone that gives him a hard time about taking visits should shoot themselves in the face.

Kid is a Cane and will most likely even recruit for us on his visits
