Dude is just scratching the surface. Doubt he out grows the DE position tho. He is 240 right now, standing about 6'6. Look at guys like Mario Williams, Julius Peppers, etc. those guys are all in 280-290 range. He will probably be 250-255 when he steps on campus. Perfect weight to build up correctly. Best part if you look at him, seems he hasnt even hit his stride in the weight room yet.
can't wait to check out the game against Norcross. I live in Norcross so def gonna where my orange n green. Will be interesting to see if any interaction between Miami commits Chris Herndon and Bethel/Thomas.

Miami is also interested in 2014 Norcross WR Lamarcus Hardnett. He told me the 'Canes are waiting to see him in a real game before they offer or make any sort of move.
Here are his highlights: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VJK_I2...top_uri=/watch?v=VJK_I2UVEj0&feature=youtu.be

By the time he enrolls here, this dude is going to have everyone salivating. He is going to be an unreal player here. He's one of those guys who has the uncanny knack of setting up OL and getting them off balance.
You can have all the speed in the world, but that doesn't necessarily make you a great pass rusher. This guy has the ability to be one step ahead of the OL at full speed. If you watch him destroy those giant OL on tape, he sets them up with an ever-so-slight move while still going full speed. They get slightly off balance, and that's when he ragdolls them with his natural country strength. It's a thing of beauty.
When he's here at 6'7 and 260 or 270 pounds with the benefit of UM's strength, nutrition and conditioning program people will be talking about him like they're talking about Clowney now.
Are you thinking that he'll be a year one contributor or a year one redshirt??
Today Chad Thomas tweeted out that he is now measured in at 6'6". For those of you who care it was without shoes on.
Also this off-season Chad has added lots of muscle and with that added about 15-20 LBS He now stands in between 240-245 LBS.
We know how deadly he is around the edge with his 4.8 40 speed but his inside pass rush has been inconsistent. The added muscle should hopefully make him a beast when facing opposing interior lineman.
We will get to see Chad in pads in real competition though on August 24 as he and Booker T. Washington face nationally ranked Norcross (GA) at 7:00 PM on ESPN.
i heart this guy. no homo.
he was already one of the top 5 prospects in the state and he'll continue to elevate his game. his frame and athleticism is just unreal. someone mentione jason pierre paul as a comparison earlier and that's exactly what i see when i look at him. his junior season was already unreal now imagine what he'll do going forward.

Seeing his highlights, his film from the opening and his physical development, it's hard to believe there is a better defensive prospect in the country. If he played in Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana or South Carolina he'd probably be one of the top 10 rated national prospects. I firmly believe that because there is so much talent in Florida our prospects are downgraded by services or the rivals 150 would be the Florida 75/USA 75.
