Chad Thomas didn't travel with team

He has to go to Tally next year. Why the **** wouldn't them get him accustomed to travelling and seeing a hostile road venue.

They are going to get destroyed tomorrow. Al has lost the team, again.

Haven't seen him playing too much at all this year. I've been to two games and he's gotten very limited time in both as opposed to other young guys on the dline also freshman getting more burn like Trent Harris and courtel Jenkins. Saw chad looking pretty disgruntled and turn away an assiatnt coach who went to go talk to him as they were walking toward tunnel at half time of Famu game. I'm just speculating but I sure as **** hope there isn't some bs suspension or that golden is trying to teach him some bs lesson for god knows what. Get the best players on the field period!

Just FYI, asked someone very close to Chad Thomas if he was upset or transferring. The response: "No way!" Looks like Golden decision #UM

**** this staff.

Incompetent, overpaid buffoons.

He'd be an All American at Bama.

He and Rueben Foster would be getting backups snaps right next to each other.

Gotta love the Golden Brigade members who love to label UM players busts.

Clearly what I'm doing. Not pointing out that the assumption that he'd be playing alot at Bama right now may be a jump to conclusion. Specifically when their own 5-star can't miss guy is a backup in his sophomore year.

Unless you actually see Chick covering a WR stop making **** up. He plays Chick's position. "Covering WRs" in zone is what McCord and Harris do about 3-4 times a game.

Playing Chick's position is probably worse than Thomas playing LB and having to cover WRs. He's a 4-3 DE all the way who should be playing on the end of the LOS where he's able to exploit OTs by using his athletic ability. Not playing the same position of a 280 lb DE where he has to 2-gap and take away any athletic advantage he'd have over OTs. He should be doing what Aldon Smith is doing, not Justin Smith.

Chad knew the deal when he signed. He knew he wasn't gonna be a pure 4-3 end. So did we. Kid is already 255-260. He wasn't an option at the position in this defense that we assume best suits his skills currently. Rush End. Certainly not when he's a junior and 270-275. Changing the scheme to fit his talents and other players in south Florida is another discussion.
You really do swallow Golden's balls don't you. You must be a functional ****** to believe half the **** you post.

You're one dumb ***. I don't think you can find one post of mine that says Golden is the right guy for this program. If we're talking in reality and not the fantasy world where they see the light and change to a 4-3 attacking man press defense overnight where the *** is Chad Thomas gonna play in the current defense? You planning on putting him on a diet so he stays under 265 his whole time at Miami?

it's not about weight, it's about skill set. if i guy can rush the lasher than you make him a standing end (jack linebacker) in a 3-4 which is the equivalent to a 4-3 de. if they're better at holding the point of attack and playing the run, than you put them at 3-4 de. it's not rocket science and has little to do with weight. thomas doesn't have to play at 280. they could learn him out and have him playing effectively at 265

True. Is Chad Thomas better at holding the point of attack or as an edge rusher right now? The one move I've seen consistently from is the stutter step bull rush. That includes high school.

Seems to be common among the old fans to just ignore what's going on ... tired of the hurr durr "just win baby" crowd download (3).webp

Problem2 didn't say anything about him playing "alot" [sic] right now.

I'm always amazed how everyone makes their decision and reacts to that decision before they even know what happened. They're saying he's not suspended. He hasn't played much. Hasn't contributed much. But just because he was a "5-star" you demand he be put out there and cut down everybody on the staff for being incompetent. Kind of a miserable way to be a fan really. How about getting all the facts before plunging into the darkness.

maybe most of us have seen this play out already before, this is just history under AG repeating itself . How many recruits have AG lost again

Maybe some of us find strident posts like this really annoying and not helpful. The aggravating part of this is that if this is a situation where he's leaving or being suspended, you get to strut around and act like a genius.

Whereas, in the most likely scenario, where he's dinged up or some other explainable and non-situationy thing has kept him from traveling, you will most likely not be held accountable because most posters aren't vindictive like you. We have no information. Let's wait and see and just take deep, deep breaths, enjoy our weekend and the upcoming game against Nebraska.

This board is becoming too much like ******* Congress, as if you pro-Golden and anti-Golden parties are more focused on tearing each other apart than rooting for the Hurricanes. The anti-Golden position, in my eyes, is far more reprehensible, as lately I've seen too many of you literally, proudly, rooting against the canes and hoping we lose, outright, just so your party can claim a victory. How does this make any sense to you? Just root for us to win. It shouldn't be hard, and if you find it hard, maybe reassess some things. Our football situation could be much, much, worse. Stop living this fantasy where everything will be perfect when we have a new coach. I prefer to live in the fantasy world where the Canes have a chance to win every game they play, no matter who the coach is or the players on the field, because the team is still the Hurricanes, and I'm still a fan.

No matter how many explanations I hear - unless the kid is injured - there is no reason our highest rated recruit should not be there. Its a stretch but they might be keeping him under a certain amount of games to RS him - which I would somewhat understand cause he's a lineman - but if that's not the case he should be in Lincoln even if it's for leadership and growth among the class. If this is simply a traveling numbers thing - then I disagree with the decision and think it's a terrible move. Thomas should be a front runner for a DE position next year.

Do him and Jackson play the same position? Because he traveled and I'm pretty sure he hasn't even played a snap yet. While Chad actually had plenty of snaps last game against asu
