Chad Thomas didn't travel with team

Unless you actually see Chick covering a WR stop making **** up. He plays Chick's position. "Covering WRs" in zone is what McCord and Harris do about 3-4 times a game.

Playing Chick's position is probably worse than Thomas playing LB and having to cover WRs. He's a 4-3 DE all the way who should be playing on the end of the LOS where he's able to exploit OTs by using his athletic ability. Not playing the same position of a 280 lb DE where he has to 2-gap and take away any athletic advantage he'd have over OTs. He should be doing what Aldon Smith is doing, not Justin Smith.

Chad knew the deal when he signed. He knew he wasn't gonna be a pure 4-3 end. So did we. Kid is already 255-260. He wasn't an option at the position in this defense that we assume best suits his skills currently. Rush End. Certainly not when he's a junior and 270-275. Changing the scheme to fit his talents and other players in south Florida is another discussion.

If we're talking in reality and not the fantasy world where they see the light and change to a 4-3 attacking man press defense overnight where the *** is Chad Thomas gonna play in the current defense? Didn't say I was peachy keen with it either. No matter what sport, it ticks me off when a player is missing from the lineup with no explanation and none is given when asked. But I've seen enough reasons in the past to just try and cool my heels until some details do actually come out. ****es me off but I'm not going to speculate and make myself just more miserable.

Since everyone else is doing wild bs speculation I will add to the litany of no source bs here by saying I have read that he was perhaps not letting staff know about an actual staph infection, and that infection is the cause of him being left back in miami.
