The problem with a lot of you clowns in this thread is that if they somehow manage to pull off a win tonight, most of you will either stay away from the board or simply go, whatever, Golden still sucks.

That type of behavior would give a lot of ammo to people like myself who are of the opinion that many people here value their opinion over the success of the team.

He was one of the most sought after recruits in the country, and we were constantly crying about no depth and no impact players on the DL. Yet, Greaseball has managed to find a way to tamp Chad down and make him another unproductive robot. Are we that deep suddenly where we can't use a 5 star mega talent?

There is a funereal type of pall over this program where everything seems to be bleak and bad news. And that all starts at the top.

When the HC is trying to change HIS OWN CULTURE in the 4th year, then you know there's something extremely and deeply broken. This is the sort of stuff you see in the HCs first year where he's trying to fix a broken culture. You don't see it when it's his own culture unless the players aren't buying in.

He's going to manage to take an enthusiastic winner like Chad and turn him sour.

Golden winning tonight would make him 2-22 against teams that finish with less than 5 losses. Almost four years of sins are not cleansed by one aberration, if it does happen. Save you pom pom superfan speech for the END of the season.

If homeboy wins tonight, sweeps the Coastal, and gets us into the ACC Coastal championship and gives FSU a good fight (READ - DOESN'T GET BLOWN OUT).....then MAYBE you can cite something resembling "Improvement". We're in his FOURTH full year, anything less than what I just listed would be a failure

But for the love of God.....keep these pom pom speeches to a minimum until then. And for the record , I've been in this (and the GRassy community) for way over 10 years. I won't be going anywhere regardless and will gladly admit if/when I'm wrong. The problem is we're not wrong...he's hot garbage and has no business coaching here.

Chad knew the deal when he signed. He knew he wasn't gonna be a pure 4-3 end. So did we. Kid is already 255-260. He wasn't an option at the position in this defense that we assume best suits his skills currently. Rush End. Certainly not when he's a junior and 270-275. Changing the scheme to fit his talents and other players in south Florida is another discussion.

it's not about weight, it's about skill set. if i guy can rush the lasher than you make him a standing end (jack linebacker) in a 3-4 which is the equivalent to a 4-3 de. if they're better at holding the point of attack and playing the run, than you put them at 3-4 de. it's not rocket science and has little to do with weight. thomas doesn't have to play at 280. they could learn him out and have him playing effectively at 265

True. Is Chad Thomas better at holding the point of attack or as an edge rusher right now? The one move I've seen consistently from is the stutter step bull rush. That includes high school.

So you have a mega talent, who everyone in the country wanted, and who is obviously bright, but you can't teach him a new pass rush technique?
