CFP Selection Committee to incorporate "new data point"

The problem is that the teams in the ACC have **** the bed this year when given the chance. One of the "premium brands" in the ACC got mutilated (Clemson), last year's ACC Championship game loser got beat by a bad WVU (UVa), NCState with one of the worst plays in history, etc., etc., etc. We don't help ourselves.

Not true. We have helped ourselves.

ACC is 4-1 against the B1G and 2-3 against the XII. 0-5 against the SEC tho. The conference plays more p4 OOC games than anybody else; and that doesn’t even include the 5-6 annual ND games.

XII is 5-7; 1-2 against the B1G and 1-3 against the SEC

SEC is 10-2

B1g 4-7; 1-2 against the SEC.

ACC; 6-9

Having a dominant record against the B1G is more than enough to refute the propaganda; and every other p4 conference has struggled against the SEC so it’s no big deal. Obviously it’d be better if NC State and UVA won but we aren’t in that bad of a predicament. We don’t have any embarrassing losses like Ok State to Tulsa, Rutgers to UMass, (almost) UMich to Western Michigan, and so forth.

Arkansas might lose to Tulsa this weekend too.

ACC also has 4 more games against the SEC in the final week.
 
The SEC is 10-2 overall and 5-0 against ACC. Like I said, we haven't helped ourselves. This is 100% a move to get more SEC teams in given the 9-game SEC conference schedule. It is being set up and people will point to the above to make it happen.

the sec is just salty they cant compete anymore on the biggest of stages in this new era of CFB. there is far more parity and talent isnt gate kept anymore by a single team.

SEC may have lost a step, but they are far from not competing.

I get no moral victories, but Louisville pushed Ole Miss right to the brink. Just because they lost a tight game doesn't relegate them to an entirely different tier of program. NC St got mauled by UVA then had to have an epic blunder to lose to Vandy on the road. SEC is 5-0 but aside from the Clemson beatdown the competition hasn't been totally inferior. Louisville destroyed Kentucky to end the year and now that team who just got smoked by Bama took out 8 And 4 in their own house and a terrible FSU team went into Tuscaloosa and pushed that same "dominant" Alabama team. The margins are razor thin in this sport and its really disingenuous to stand firm that there is this chasm between ACC play and SEC play in todays game.

They are desperately trying to push this through before people wake up and realize ESPN and the SEC are complete frauds. They were outted last year, but God bless simpletons with short attention spans.

I've been saying the same thing. The talent gap is not what they would have you believe with their BS rankings.

Look at the games this weekend. No matter what happens, no team falls out of the top 25. Ole Miss wins a close one, Florida probably jumps up. Florida wins, Ole Miss doesn't drop far. Tennessee beats Texas, well, it was a tough road game, and wow, UT beat the #1 team in the dad gum country! If Texas wins, well, Tennessee just lost a tough game to obviously the #1 team in the country. My God it's disgusting they can get away with this fraud.
 
The SEC and ND and straight up running racketeering enterprise with the CFP committee. Forget the NIL and eligibility fight - government needs to stop the ongoing collusion inside this body. its getting real bad now…

fans outside of that conference know they are frauds. Fans inside the conference don’t care and are happy about stuff like this. It’s a no win situation if you aren’t in those two conferences. They saw what Miami did last year and felt their control slipping away.

This is exactly right.

We destroyed Stanford, so now ND has to too or it will be used against them.

We HAVE TO embarrass Clemson, because they were embarrassed by LSU. If we don't, it will be used against us.

Same is true for UNC, BC and FSU. We have to run up the score for the optics because they also play ND, Alabama and UF.

FSU we need to woodshed so badly they fire Norvell the next day. We need to make Alabama's win look terrible. Then again, they didn't even care Alabama lost to those scrubs last year. I hate ESPN.
 
So they allowed a period of conference expansion where two conferences were allowed to acquire almost all the major brands of college football not currently in their leagues.

They then locked down that expansion and are trying to get Congress to pass a law to prohibit it further.

They are planning to allow those conferences to negotiate their own media rights deals.

They then tell you, out loud, that the committee tasked with creating a list of teams to enter the postseason, a postseason that carries financial benefit for participating, will use the strength of those conferences as an added bonus.

One of the network partners to those power 2 conferences also just happens to hold the rights to broadcast those playoffs.

I really hope if all this goes through Miami, and all the other non P-2 schools, sue the ever living s*** out of everyone within 3,000 miles. Imagine if in the NFL the individual conferences were wildly imbalanced, they all negotiated their own TV right deals with different networks, and one of those networks also aired the Super Bowl. And how they determined who went to the Super Bowl was completely subjective and not based on any formula.

I say let them lock all their teams in, then when polls are abolished and they go the NFL route for determining who gets in, conference champs, runner ups, etc, they will be screwed. "Waaa waaa waaaa! We have too many good teams! It's not FAIR!!!" Yeah, well it's not fair what BS they are pushing on the rest of us now is it?

Honestly, if they simply got rid of polls and went to an NFL model, schools would naturally gravitate to where they think they can win. It would balance itself out. You'd end up with conferences, eventually, where schools are actually in the same geographic region, once all things become equal. You'd have a PAC10 again with only teams from the west coast. The ACC would no longer have teams from the west coast. The SEC wouldn't be so bloated, because teams would want a better, clearer path to the playoffs. Enough of this two super conference BS. Split that crap up to 8 conferences and be done with it.

Just my opinion I would rather play a Florida or ND etc then play a 9th conf game. Those games are disappearing and getting canceled. It might be good for the SEC and Big10 but not the ACC. Who did you play who did you beat. Beating ND last year and getting in not winning the ACC.

Of course we would rather play those OOC games and I enjoy those matchups of UT vs osu. The point is these "new metrics" eliminate the need for those games in the 2 conferences that matter. Yes, Miami needs to schedule an ND because otherwise the perception is they play in the weak ACC. The ACC is perceived as weak (although I agree) because the other conferences stockpile overrated Top 25 teams (Tennesee,Mizz,UF etc) and teams like Duke get ****ted on (even though I don't believe they are good).
