CFP Info from Miami OH AD

well see, i just find it hard to believe they will move byu down
bc imagine you were set to get in as an at large
then you lost your conf championship game and then got bumped down and a team that didnt play gets in, there would be no incentive to play that team
thats why no matter if bama loses by a fg or 7 td they wont drop
and just like last year smu not dropping after losing the acc championship game im worried byu wont move either
thats just my gut feeling based on prior actions, i could be wrong but theres more evidence to support miami will be kept behind notre dame some way some how

They need to offer a justification for continuing to rank them ahead of us. They have to say something, and while it's ridiculous, it also happens to be the only justification they can offer.
 
When we went into the middle season funk, people made up their mind, same old Miami, we gonna tail spin to end the season. Now that it didnt happen, they refuse to readjusted their thought process.

I did not care about ND being ranked ahead of us when we were playing like **** because i didnt see the pointof going into the playoffs to get smoked. We got our act together and it matters now.

I do regret Cristobal them didnt adjusted after UL.

Yall can see the post made by many including myself imploring them to do just that or we would lose more games.
It took another loss and anarchy for them to finally cut the kr@p and diversify the run game and also expanding the rotations on the depth chart.

The way 2023 happened was because UGA was #1 and Bama was #8. They had to get Bama in the playoffs when they beat UGA in the SECCG.

And Michigan beat OSU and Washington beat Oregon.

This year the scenario is not really comparable.
 
I thigh the same thing until the NC St and Pitt games. Thats 5 data points - 4 common opponents with nearly identical results and a H2H win. Seems illogical to see it any other way

Not really surprising. And this doesn't make me think they will actually flip Miami and ND if we do actually end up side-by-side. I'm still assuming they will do whatever it takes to keep ND ahead of us. But this came from someone in the room. Make of it what you like.

This reads as, half the committee is biased OR doesn't want to admit they are wrong. They are praying to God BYU wins and they can just avoid the head-to-head.

I think it’s more likely we move to 11 and BYU 12 than BYU staying at 11 after a loss. You aren’t setting that precedent by dropping a team outside the playoffs to begin with. You would set that precedent by dropping Bama.

I don’t know how us and ND will shake out. But dropping BYU won’t change much. The 11th ranked team and the 130th ranked team will each play the same number of playoff games. So dropping BYU if they lose is largely inconsequential imo.

Absolute non-ball knowers.

Their hearts and best interests THINK Notre Dame is better...but the facts and evidence prove they are not. Numbers. Eye test. Head to head. Notre Dame is simply not better or more deserving of a spot OVER Miami. No metric of merit.

Beat them at the beginning of the year and beat every common opponent by a larger margin at every stage of the season. Notre Dame didnt beat anyone in the current playoff field.

BYU is #11 right now.
The only way they get in is with a win.

BYU isn’t set to get in if they weren’t in B12 champ game though. This is why the ranking AHOULD HAVE just been 9. Miami 10. ND 11. Bama 12. BYU. Then Bama and BYU outside looking in. A loss means they are out. A win means they are in. Simple

Yet SMU did move down. They just didn’t move down to go from IN PLAYOFFS if they didn’t play to out of playoffs by playing. BYU is in a differ situation

my point with that was that bama wont move down even with a loss
and i dont think they would move byu
i just dont see them keeping them their bc they can then keep using the same excuse to keep notre dame ahead of us
i dont know why we think they will change at the last minute
theres more evidence to show they will come up with some asinane excuse to keep notre dame ahead

and keeping byu there even if they lose is an easy way to keep using their excuse how we arent close enough for head to head to matter
and they can just use the excuse that loosing a champsionship game wont affect your standing

I think if BYU loses they are dropping below Vandy and just gunna be 1 ahead of Utah. I’m not worried about that aspect at all tbh.

What I think is the dumbass worry is if BYU loses and it comes down to ND and Miami (which is 100% what a BYU loss means) and they still choose ND. If you go by all the past rankings that’s what they will do . The only hope is all the media trashing of them can finally get them to actually value H2H when it comes down to choosing the final CFP spot when deciding between two teams with similar resume and one has that H2H win
