CFP Info from Miami OH AD

thats why i think they wont drop them
i get the sense the committee has already made up their mind that they will get notre dame in no matter what
so even in byu loses if they keep them at 11 they can use that as the excuse to say h2h doesnt matter bc we arent close enough

Best scenario would be to keep Notre Dame and Miami in. So if both BYU lose and Bama loses a BYU drops below Miami and so might a 3 loss Bama team that dropped a game pretty handily to a common opponent Miami clobbered.

One of their sacred cows must be sacrificed in this case and though people will still be ****ed that would be more justifiable resume-wise. And just imagine a ND and Miami playoff rematch?

Chair has some authority to maintain credibility and steer members towards certain metrics for decision-making, but generally committees are created to obscure individual responsibility. If you have people voting in blocks, which may be the case, discussions can be difficult.
You can literally pull the lineup of the CFP committee and KNOW EXACTLY who is on each side of these blocks

Coaches, and players and Carla the ACC "rep" saying softly IF THEYRE SIDE BY SIDE maybe we should go with head to head. While those other gangsters and frauds and Liars are shilling loudly NEVER. NOTRE DAME IS BETTER.
We have a shot. Its slim. But the deck is stacked against us.

I believe in God and choose to be positive.

God be with the just and righteous

All the evidence is there that we are the better team. They put in who they feel like. Period. Head to head only matters if it’s side by side now? That’s not easy to manipulate at all lmao. Joke. They just all came to this conclusion that they had to keep 1 team in between us so we’re not side by side right? Your buddy’s colleague is corrupt af and should be ashamed of himself.

As has been said on a number of outlets, over the past two years (this one included), there have been thirteen H2H situations for the committee to navigate through. The winner has been ranked higher in twelve of them. The lone exception...you guessed it!

You’re way over thinking this. If BYU loses they will drop. The precedent has been set, and it will happen. They will probably drop two spots just as SMU did last year if they can’t beat Texas Tech. The ****ery is going to happen with Bama. If they don’t beat Georgia, they will drop also, but only behind ND, hence us getting ****ed.

I am not overly optimistic about our chances. I too agree that we need a Bama win and a BYU loss. I do think if Bama loses big and BYU loses we have a small chance of being moved in ahead of bama likely to 9 and ND stays 10. If BYU wins We are 11 and ND 12 so they can say look H2H matters

So it’s subjective not objective….sweet. Hope Marco Rubio is serious when he says Trump needs to take over the committee if Miami gets screwed
you believe in easter bunny too?

that's not how this works seth meyers GIF by Late Night with Seth Meyers

I've been saying for weeks. I thought our only chance to get in was to back into the ACC championship game and win it. Now, this committee will ***** us like always. When was the last time Miami actually caught a break?
Halloween 2014? vs Duke.

Week 11 this year Louisville was 20th and we were 15th. Same records and they beat us.

What were they ranked the previous week and how much would Louisville have to climb to be ranked ahead?
I'm not sure what your criteria are but Louisville was ranked 15th week 10 at 7-1 and we were 18th at 6-2.

They lost and we won so week 11 we were both 7-2 and they dropped to 18th and we moved up to 15th.

I’m worried if byu loses they will stay at 11
Bc losing your conf championship game won’t move them
With that excuse they will keep notre dame ahead

Per DMoney, they are setting this up to swap us with ND when/if BYU loses.

I asked myself the same question you did. The only rationale is that Alabama has proven it can beat top-10 teams, and BYU has not, if they lose again to TT.

A buddy of mine who used to work at Miami University (OH) spoke with his former colleague, David Sayler, the athletic director at Miami U and a current member of the CFP selection committee. He asked him about ND vs. Miami for the final rankings, and this is what he said:

"If ND and Miami are side-by-side in the rankings, he thinks Miami will surpass ND. But he said there is about half of the committee that firmly believes ND is the better team at this stage. The other half of the committee firmly believes that head-to-head needs to mean something."

Not really surprising. And this doesn't make me think they will actually flip Miami and ND if we do actually end up side-by-side. I'm still assuming they will do whatever it takes to keep ND ahead of us. But this came from someone in the room. Make of it what you like.
can he ask how those folks think ND is better ????
