CFP Info from Miami OH AD

Still say if we’d of spent the second half attacking like we did in the first half and beat ND by 2-3 scores which we probably could have done if Mario hadn’t gone into playing bully ball playing not to lose we wouldn’t be having the discussions we are now cause we’d have shown how much better we were.

Winning only by 3 the way we did no matter how much we dominated is what’s even leaving who’s better up for debate.

Here is the thing that I haven't heard a single person throw out.

"The committee said they will not punish teams for Conference Championship game performance."

Which means BYU when they lose will still remain 11, keeping us at arms length from ND. The whole if we are next to each other they will flip us narrative DOA.

This whole thing is a shame.

In other words the committee full of dumbass ADs are retarded? Lol

I tried to tell people that we were not going to magically jump Notre Dame, even when "back-to-back", when the CFPC has repeatedly shown us that they will not do it.

But, yeah, not-smart people can go out and root for Alabama, I guess.

Because the CFPC didn't say that. The CFPC has historically punished losers of conference championship games, and will do so again this weekend.

A buddy of mine who used to work at Miami University (OH) spoke with his former colleague, David Sayler, the athletic director at Miami U and a current member of the CFP selection committee. He asked him about ND vs. Miami for the final rankings, and this is what he said:

"If ND and Miami are side-by-side in the rankings, he thinks Miami will surpass ND. But he said there is about half of the committee that firmly believes ND is the better team at this stage. The other half of the committee firmly believes that head-to-head needs to mean something."

Not really surprising. And this doesn't make me think they will actually flip Miami and ND if we do actually end up side-by-side. I'm still assuming they will do whatever it takes to keep ND ahead of us. But this came from someone in the room. Make of it what you like.
Find out which half needs convincing.. We can make our arguments prior to vote..

This really dilutes H2H. The requirement is they MUST be side by side with no team in between in order to have H2H influence the rankings. Really deemphasizes H2H to have that requirement.

All this talk of "tiers" and "groupings" and now it is they MUST be side by side
They’re going with that so they can try and get out of the H to H requirement.

Punish them by dropping them a spot or dropping them out of the playoffs?

Dropping Bama a spot would be bad for us.
Dropping them out of the playoffs would be good for us.

So depending on which scenario you expect is what should dictate who you root for.

You are the idiot that thinks this dumbasss committee is dropping Bama out of the ******* playoffs altogether lmao.

Tell me rank which of these 3 results is better for Miami when Paired with a BYU loss obviously:
1. Bama blowout loss
2. Bama closing loss (anything within like 10 points or really close to that)
3. Bama win in any fashion.

Now separately rank which of those 3 is most likely to occur.

your the only dumbass that thinks the odds are better for Bama to be blown out than for the Committee to hopefully stop being ******* morons and to value H2H lol. Nobody is ******* saying They WILL stop being imbeciles. But it is our clear best shot at making the CFP. Bama literally beat UGA earlier this year. Kirby Smart is literally like 1-7 against Alabama while at UGA. Yeah I do think a blowout Bama loss COULD be more beneficial to Miami, but most likely it will either be a close win or close loss. And in those 2 options, clothe Win is FAR FAR BETTER. Stop being such a ******* dumbass

Nobody is ******* arguing that losers of Champ games don’t go down in the rankings. This is the stupid ******* **** you always do in your posts - lie about what others are saying. There is a MASSIVE ******* DIFFERENCE between Bama dropping in seeding and dropping out of the playoff completely. How you are too stupid to understand this is insane

I’m worried if byu loses they will stay at 11
Bc losing your conf championship game won’t move them
With that excuse they will keep notre dame ahead

Both have happened before, but your point is valid.

In 2023, Georgia was dropped five spots AND OUT OF THE PLAYOFFS on a 3-point SEC-CG loss.

Make it make sense...

I’m really not sure how you can take away that ND is even the better team right now when both teams hustled played Pitt two weeks apart. And Pitt OPENLY stated they didn’t have as much reason to care vs ND, it all was riding on GT/Miami. So with everything on the line Miami handled Pitt better than Notre Dame.
Then it must clearly have been them playing a brutal Stanford team so well...:LOL::LOL:

Valid point.

If "losing the SEC-CG" won't cause Alabama to drop, why does anyone think BYU will drop after losing the B12-CG?

We are rooting inconsistently.

I want Team A to win because they won't drop, but I want Team B to lose because they will drop.

Make it make sense...

I think the only valid argument (which the committee doesn't use anyways) is:
Bama beat UGA earlier in the season and then lost a close one so they shouldn't lose a spot since they split the games.
BYU has now been blown out TWICE by Texas tech, so they should drop behind Miami.

It's honestly just wild hubris from a bunch of Athleti, Directors, the chair of which oversees a losing program. They think that "They Know Best", results on the field be damned

I do not understand the idea that ND right now is better than Miami ? the only victory of note is over a middle of the road SC team........ something stinks with a group that has to constantly change rules to keep everybody happy SEC & ND
