CFB is more balanced

Mario’s reputation as an offensive line guru, flanked by Mirabal, is overstated.

Other than Sewell from Oregon, how many offensive lineman were drafted or even undrafted free agents? Sewell was a high pick, but was also a five star recruit. Give Mario credit for that. All the other offensive lineman Mario put in the NFL during his time from his time in Oregon were day three picks or undrafted free agents. Quite a few of those players were signed a season or two before Mario left for Miami and finished their college career under Dan Lanning.

Alabama had good offensive lines with Mario Cristobal, but they also had good lines before and after. Mario only coach at Alabama for three years. How many players did he coach their entire collegiate career?

Nick Saban raves about Mario as a recruiter, but why did Mario leave Alabama? I believe he was replaced by Brent Keys and Alabama‘s machine just rolled on, no pun intended.

Why would Mario leave Alabama a year removed from a national championship season and in the middle of a multi-national championship run for a lateral position at the University of Oregon? You could say it worked out because Willie Taggart bailed after one year and Mario got the promotion to head coach, and here he is today as head coach for his dream job making $8 million a year. All of which seems more lucky than a plan.
I brought the “who has he put in the league at OL” thing up based on facts provided by @Rellyrell and got assailed by the MarioBros. I’mma find that post and seek out my assailants and ask them like @ucaned asking about a 4 year old 1-week auto-ban for criticism of St. CoRchibal.

Since get rid of Mario is out of the question (which is ridiculous when it's supposed to be about the program) he needs to go out and get Phil To Longo and get out the way
That’s the crux of the problem, he doesn’t want to get out of the way.

Mario doesn’t realize that pace and space can also tire out defenses and then at the end of the game when you’re up 21 you can pins them into submission.

That second half versus Stanford unfortunately validated his belief of hammering an overmatched opponent into submission with brute force. We could’ve out schemed them and likely scored 60, but that’s simply not what Mario wants to do.

From the day he was hired I knew it would take a while. I said I would give him 5 years and see it though (knowing the mess he inherited and the first two years would be clean up).

But I knew bare MINIMUM between year 3 and 5 he would need to make playoffs once. If Rio can’t get it done next year, it’s time to cut ties.

In short, we’re behind the curve.

And I don’t think it’s a coincidence that our meteoric rise and dominance of yesteryear were attributable to innovation and setting trends, rather than falling behind them.

We’ve been getting passed up for a long time now. And unfortunately, although there’s certainly a place for toughness, hard work, and “grinding,” there’s much more to it. And we ain’t got it.

Perhaps worse, I’m not sure we’re even chasing it.

I can tell you exactly how this is going to go.

Dawson won’t be back, and we will be sold the narrative that Mario/Mirabal will be completely hands off and that the OC will have full control and the vast majority of this board will be back on board for ‘26. It’s literally all he has left because once we lose 1-2 more games down the stretch + the bowl game, there will be nothing else left to rally the troops. It’ll be some G5 coordinator or someone who has never called plays on their own.

And yes, everyone who buys this and tries to spread the lies…

I’m a business owner and a CEO. Know lots of people that are as well.

He’s an employee type not a CEO. CEOs aren’t supposed to be texting recruits 24/7. He would work his *** off as a recruiter where he can take his long term approach and work ethic and shine.

He can’t make quick pivots. Takes him 6 months to hire coaches.

This idea that he’s building some sort of corporate infrastructure is lost on me when even his OL can’t line up right in year 4.
You hiring?

Agree bro I'm becoming disinterested at this point with this boring (bully) ball

Mario cant get out of his own way. 10+ penalties in losses is something an OC wont unbake from the cake. You need Cam Ward to undo **** like that and even then you saw the result.

Mario ball catches up to you eventually. A ram doesnt change its horns.

Mario Ball more than anything is sloppy and undisciplined. Then he wants to play a style of ball that requires safe, heady play. The curtains dont match the drapes.

The answer to that question can only be discussed in the Town Hall

It’s ugly out there right now
I thought you might be able to offer Mario an alternative career path

I avoid town hall anyway. I don’t need further evidence of how deranged some of you are. I’ll stick to just seeing everyone’s version of Miami bubble or slurpers or mopers or both sidesers

I’m fine with Mario being UM football CEO.. head coach is my issue. He has no business doing that
The only credit I’ll give Mario is he has always made the change for what was the weak link. But now the weak link is the identity he wants his offense to have. Idk if he will be able to let go of control and let who ever the OC is score points. Cam Ward changed to a lot of pass plays last year seems like Beck doesn’t
