Any chance they are grooming him as the nickle for next season after Scott leaves (I know it's been mentioned that Ewald gets work there in practice too)? Or is this a kid who is decent, but on his way out with just too much ahead of him? There have been rumors of both grades or injury….Either of those true?

Not bytching because we have some dudes out there in the secondary right now, but just wondering if anyone has a status update?

Doubt it. We oversigned, there was ALWAYS gonna be an odd man out, cream was gonna rise to top. Plus he isnt a nickle, would be like us forcing daryl porter just because of measureables and not actual skills. NO.

Sucks cuz kid is senior, he should of portaled out like Klarney after spring so he could atleast get PT his senior year. He is good enough to play, better that Klarney who is getting cooked. But I think he was actually playing in spring and order of portal guys may have skewed writing on wall (I think Lucas came after) so sucks overall.

He might still play. Injuries will be a factor in a long season.

Ya I agree we over signed. Maybe you are right about the Porter comparison, but he just seems more physical and scrappy than Porter.

And I agree with a couple of you, he could be needed for snaps down the stretch. Nice problem to have for us, just wondering where he ends up next year, and also who we have lined up for nickle with all these DBs both on the roster and coming in. I know Ewald was mentioned…Day early in his career, but more so a safety now. K.Scott never comes off the field, so no idea who is 2nd on depth chart.
 
Didn't play all year over our top 4-5 corners and wasn't even the back up nickle, Taylor and Fitz were over him at that spot and the young guys have looked better and in the case of Jaboree gotten defensive snaps in game over him so not a loss, good luck to him tho 👍

I wonder what happened here? I know @DMoney in the OP said this was it for him, surprised he still has eligibility, then there were issues with his transcripts and that kept him out the first few games but then he was crickets. Injury? Unable to tackle? Couldnt get the playbook down? Seems weird from a guy who showed so much upside at Mich State.
