Haven’t heard of any multi-million dollar shoe deals yet…

And, it will be interesting what might happen when a student-athlete signs a deal the school might object to. I read BYU requires they review all NIL deals to ensure the product does not violate their honor code. No deals with coffee, tea, alcohol, or tobacco products, and clothing must meet the school’s dress code.

Miami is obviously not BYU, but what about a player signing a deal with a nightclub, a strip club, gambling, or something the school might object to? The player owns their name, image, and likeness, but the school owns their program’s IP with team logos, team name, etc.

How about a player signing an deal with a different major apparel company than the school’s? Say, Jake Garcia next season wants to sign with Nike, but the school has a deal with Addidas? Interesting….
