Yea it's weird when people do that. Why would you take them away? Do they not count?

This is a logical post.5 separate runs of over 64 yards in one season is a statistical outlier? That's adorable.
Do we do the same with Devin Hester? Lets take away his 5 longest returns in a season at Miami and use that updated average to determine what type of return-man he was. So ridiculous.
The big question mark for ND is the interior DL. Lots of reports from camp that they've come on really strong. Who knows - could be fall camp kool-aid. We feel confident in the edge rushers - really excited to see what Bryce Young can do. His fall camp reports were insane - and he's 6'7" 280 and can move. He beat out a RS Junior who started throughout the playoff, so this is a good sign Again, we'll see.Islas Canarias
In all seriousness, and this isn't a position vs. position thing (we clearly have a better situation at QB), I think it's our OL and run game vs. their run defense. ND's run defense was just solid last season. They were far from a top unit.
ND vs. the better opponents on their schedule last season:
A&M had 146 yards on 38 carries (3.8 ypc)
ND had 131 on 35 carries (3.7)
USC had 197 on 28 (7.0)
Penn State had 204 on 42 (4.9)
Ohio State had 214 on 41 (5.2)
Northern Illinois also had nearly 200 yards in their infamous upset. Navy had 222 on over 5 ypc. Their most impressive run stopping performance was holding Georgia to 62 yards (who was pedestrian running the ball).
If our OL and run game can do something similar to what PSU and OSU did, I like our chances. Our OL was built exactly for this, and we have a trio of backs who can get it done.
Overall, in a very simplified way:
When Miami passes the ball, moderate advantage ND
When Miami runs the ball, strong advantage Miami
When ND passes the ball, strong advantage Miami
When ND runs the ball, moderate advantage ND
But he was banged up all year….All I've been hearing from ND fans is "No way Miami stops J Love". The same Love that was stuffed all game by GT, Louisville, and NIU? The same Love that is a complete non factor in every big game they play? The same Love that would average about 3 YPC if you take away the fluke 50+ yard runs? Yeah I'm not concerned. Load the box, put all the pressure on a RShirt Freshman QB making his first start in a stadium full of 60,000+ South Florida degenerates. Canes Roll.
Probably the biggest question mark for us is our secondary. Totally revamped by picking up several very good CB’s and safety’s in the portal plus a few returning. How quickly they can gel will be a big key for our defense. New DC is also an X factor. The big question mark for ND is the interior DL. Lots of reports from camp that they've come on really strong. When you say Miami has a strong advantage when we pass, is that primarily because of Carr as a first time starter? I don't see Miami's secondary as an advantage over our WRs/TE.
I just don't see the big advantages Miami has. I'm actually really trying to see the other side. I think this Miami team is really good too. And I could very well be wrong, no doubt about that - I just see Notre Dame as more talented, more depth, and a better staff. Miami has some dudes, for sure, but top-to-bottom?Probably the biggest question mark for us is our secondary. 3 up? Loll. Well, he actually had 163 carries for 1,125 yards, 17 TDs and 7 yards per carry. But keep believing your 3 up. Come on, you could have looked that up, too, instead of just throwing out random stats that you really have no idea about. And his backup, Jadarian Price, had 120 carries for 746 yards and, 7 TDs and 6.2 yards per carry. Just sayin'... Your complete and uninformed nonsense just needed a response. All I've been hearing from ND fans is "No way Miami stops J Love". The same Love that was stuffed all game by GT, Louisville, and NIU? No idea how that quote posted twice. But I meant 3 ypc??, not up.No idea how that quote posted twice, but I meant 3 ypc??, not up.
I'd be more worried about them later in the season. New DCs with new defenses typically have the highest impact on the secondary. Then adding that this an entirely new secondary, I'd imagine there won't be a lot of complication on the back end, so they can play fast early.I think you’re underestimating our CBs. That said I believe ND is very good across the team except QB.
We have the same question marks about our DTs. They’re bigger than your DTs, but only three of them so not deep and not proven against a top running operation.
The QB difference will be the difference.
Miami has more ?s, but we have the biggest ?.And everyone here is talking about how we're so crazy for being somewhat confident, but you guys are way more over the top, as far as that. It's the first game of the season and that's nothing but blind HOPE, by each side. Trying to convince ourselves about why we will win.

NDs main DTs are Onye- 6'5" 202, Hinish 6'2" 277 ( a bit undersized), and Rubio, 6'5" 321. Not all that undersized, overall. Even DE Bryce Young is 6"7" 271. Lol.I think you’re underestimating our CBs. That said I believe ND is very good across the team except QB.
