CANES greatest advantage vs ND

Dawson vs Chris Ash.

Last time Ash was a DC, it was in 2020 with Texas. "Under Ash's direction, the Longhorns wrapped up the 2020 season as the nation's No. 64 ranked total defense allowing an average 406.4 yards per game, and finished with the No. 61 scoring defense (28.5 ppg), No. 36 rushing defense (140.3 ypg) and No. 108 passing defense (266.2 ypg)."

I don't want to hear that he didn't have talent cause Texas had the #3 class in 2019 and 2018.

I think Dawson is ready to carve up ND more than people expect him to. This could be Dawsons last year here as he gets hired to be a HC elsewhere and a great offensive showing vs ND would go A LONG way.
You THINK he's ready to carve up ND, huh? Lol. And why is that? You simply HOPE that happens, you know nothing about it.

Either you don't know how to read or you have the reading comprehension of a 2nd grader. I said if you take away his 50+ yard runs, which just like turnovers, are flukey, he averages about 3-4 YPC. The irony of you calling my comment out for being uninformed when it appears you must have had a stroke mid way through reading mine is hilarious. If you wanna talk stats did you know over 30% of his total yards from last year came from 5 rushes? Did you know he got completley shut down and stuffed in 1/4 of the regular season games ND played last year against inferior competition? Did you know he didn't have a single 100+ yard rushing game without having a 50+ yard rush? That to me doesn't scream "Best RB in CFB" but hey, what do I know. Apparently I dont even know how to look up basic stats. But at least I know how to ******* comprehend what I'm reading unlike you.
I'm pretty sure your the clown of this board. Yeah, 50 yard runs usually help you get 100 yards rushing games. Anyway, we'll see what you think about him Sunday night. The supposed experts seem to think he's that good (1st team pre-season AA, and all). You're just an ND hating clown. The people on this board should be embarrassed by you. Clown.

Calling someone out on intelligence when you don't know what a statistical outlier is?
Karma Twist GIF

And if listing basic percentages that take literally 2 seconds to pull up is trying hard to be intelligent and "math wizardry" to you than you're only proving my point that you're dumb as ****.
It's THEN, not THAN, in that instance. lol. Yikes.

You are certainly one of the "good ones" when it comes to fans of opposing teams joining the boards for banter.

I think CJ Carr (or Minchey, if Carr gets pulled) has to have a good game for Notre Dame to win. That sounds obvious, but it's actually a tall order for a freshman making his first start on the road to play well. The running game can take some pressure off him, but I don't think it's likely that Notre Dame wins if it has to be one-dimensional on offense. That would put too much pressure on the defense to completely shut down Miami's offense- and in the end, I'm going to put stock in QB experience and record of success.
Of Carr gets pulled? Loll. You guys over here are hilarious.

I could tell you weren't very smart by the first analogy you tried to make but after that one you might actually be retarded. Do I need to give you a statistics crash course in a canes sports forum? 3% of his rushes accounting for over 30% of his total yards would be the LITERAL definition of a statistical outlier. How about him getting completely stuffed and shut down in 1/4th of NDs regular season games? How about him being unable to rush for over 100 yards without having a 48+ yard rush? Maybe that screams "Best RB in CFB" to people like you but to me all it says is he's a good college back, great even, but all he is is a home run hitter and when he doesn't manage to hit one, he's not any better than 50 other backs that are out in CFB.
Dude, the guy is really good . If Im reading you right and apologies if not , you make it sound that hes just a home run hitter but Id argue that he is a much more complete back than that, at least when Ive watched him. Didnt he lead the league in ypc after contact or something like that? How do you explain that away? That TD run against PSU in the CFP was one of the better runs Ive seen. Google it and watch it in slow motion. Understand the hate for ND but gotta give credit where its due.

I still don’t understand why you’re discounting the long runs. Are you saying they’re luck? What team wouldn’t want that? I think him and the other RB they hav
The same reason I don't look at team stats against FCS schools. It skews stats. I'm not saying don't give him credit for them, he's definitely a home run hitter. But when 3% of his rushes account for over 30% of his total yards it skews his stats quite a bit. It's like relying on your defense to get you 2+ turnovers a game. Sure it could happen, its great when it does, but it's not going to happen every game.

ND's rush D was about average last season. The weakest part of their D. I think their rush D is going to be worse. Our young receivers have to step up and get separation to throw ND out of a stacked box. I expect both D's to come out playing man with stacked boxes. I believe Beck can throw them out of it and Carr can't. It is the 1st game of the season and I keep checking myself, that we have several young players and transfers that must jell. A tough order for game 1 in a mess of a field with a wet ball, against a good D. I seriously have to keep checking myself because I see a lot of advantages if we are jellied.

ND’s DL is not really not that big, but their LB’s are good.
We should be able to run the ball well.
