Who cares. Preseason ranking is pretty much useless. We just need to show up and put up a fight
 
I think the ranking is fair. We’re on a two game losing streak, but we’re returning a loaded team. A lot of ppl r bullish on us b/c of the talent we’re bringing back. I believe we ended the season #22, so I think it’s fair to start @ #16. As long as we don’t get embarrassed, we shouldn’t drop no more than 1 or 2 spots, then we should start the season 4-1, at worst. Even if we start 4-1, we’ll be ranked higher than #16 by the time we truly enter ACC play, as UVA should be a cake walk W.
 
UNC at #9 is ridiculous. They have Miami to thank for that, it's our own **** fault. They lost to UVA and FSU, barely beat Boston College and Wake. They played NC State well and kicked the crap out of us, and that's literally it. And now they've lost almost 90% of their offensive production. I just don't get it. I'm not saying Miami is better than them but I would bet some good money that they don't end up anywhere near the top 10 by seasons end. I wouldn't be surprised if they lose to Va Tech in game 1.

16 is fair.

The big thing for me, as someone else pointed out, we need to stop coming out of the tunnel like we're on downers. It happens far too often with this team. Solve that issue and we're a problem for all but the elite.

Florida is high but SEC bias gets them extra votes. And big expectations due to their dumb coach.
UNC has one of the best returning QBs and a decent OL and DL and people respect their coach too.

The team I am scratching my head about is ND.
I think there is no way they should be ranked as high as they are. Especially since they do not have their Houdini QB to save them as he did in so many situations last year.
I would not be shocked to see them lose 4-5 games.
 
In 2018, preparing for LSU we were ranked 8th.
Why? Because of a 10 win season the year before.
As we all know, 2018 was a season for the Ages..
 
ESPN ranks UNC at ten. States that key September game for UNC is against VaTech, but no mention of a challenge by UM later on. So, UNC should be more concerned about VaTech than about Miami later on? Preseason comments are ridiculous.

Just as an FYI, UNC brings back almost the entire offense. 8/11 starters are returning. They did not lose 90%. lol

They did lose a ton of production though, albeit not 90%, as both running backs and they’re top 2 WR’s are gone. Bringing back your QB and the entire OL definitely soften the blow of losing your top 4 skill players. Anyone that thinks they won’t be a tough out is probably a bit biased. VT lucks out getting them first game, but I don’t think they’re good enough to take advantage.
 
As long as we beat VT, I'm happy. Them and unc-r are the top games we circle. Losing Javante and Carter definitely hurts but the transfer from Tennessee is supposed to be fantastic.
