Our kickoff coverage was good this yr. Our field goal team was good, Badglry has been a great kicker for us. Sure he missed a couple, but so does literally every college kicker. Worried about having a true fresh at kicker next yr. hopefully we have an upperclassman walk on that can give him competition.
The kick return unit was below average, but imo it was not the fault of Jeff Thomas who got just about all the returns for us. He was breaking a lot of tackles and making guys miss. I don't know if you guys actually payed attention or not, but the blocking was ******* terrible, especially from deejay Dallas. I love the guy, but he was ******* terrible as the lead block for Jeff Thomas, I'm telling you the amount of times he straight up ran right past someone instead of blocking them was insane.
The punt game was obviously ***. The punt coverage was usually great, especially homer at gunner. Homer could be an NFL gunner for sure, that alone could give him a long NFL career as a ST specialist. Unfortunately the punt blocking was usually pretty bad, mostly due to the 3 guys blocking right in front of the punter having like no understanding of who to block. Then of course the punting was terrible. Feagles definitely got worse as the season progressed, which hopefully means it was just a mental thing and not a skill thing. All I know is he better go ******* practice extensively with his dad this offseason. I don't even think his technique was all that good cause he took forever to actually punt, idk maybe he's taking too many steps or something. But he was only a true fresh last yr, and that's what happens with true freshman kickers. Hopefully with another season of training his leg will get stronger, he'll get more confident and he will take a major step forward and become at least an average acc punter
