can we win the national title THIS YEAR?

Miami has won 5 national championships with 4 different head coaches. Coaches don't make the university of Miami, the players do. Richt has to get the players & coach well.

This is the point i was making

Other than jimmy j and howard i dont think we ever had a top 5 coach

Sure erickson and butch were good but they werent the best (coker just won with butched team)

As long as you have a competent coach who can recruit

You can win at miami due to the overflow of local talent

Richt meets that criteria
 
Not sure how anyone could expect running the table this year with our CB situation. Hope some guys step up, but scary thin.

Not true, the coaches have been just as much responsible for making the University of Miami what its today as the players. Each championship we have came with players and coaches with dynamic personalities. Each team was well coached and well prepared.

Since that time, we have either had a coach and no players or players and no coach it just depends on who's arguing the point. But you need both to win a championship.

I expect us to win 6 games this year, possibly 7 if Kaaya has a great year

I don't think we're a talented football team. I think our offensive line is thin and we have no tackles. I think our RB's are the worst we've had in a decade. We have like 2 CB's on scholarship....one who played RB in high school, the other whose best offer was Louisville. We have no proven safeties. We have no linebackers besides Grace...walk ons will play in this defense

Add to all that, we'll be breaking in a new system. Our coaching staff includes the head man's 25 year old son, a bartender, a high school coach, and a defensive coordinator who was fired at Texas

Our last couple recruiting classes were among the worst ranked we've had since they started keeping track, and at least 20 slots below FSU each year

I understand the rose colored glasses, but let's be real. We're not gonna be that good

I am not going to call you a "troll" as some will and have.. Im trying to understand your point of view in term of US winning only 6 games, maybe 7 if Kaaya has a good year....
Most of these returning players come from a 8-5 team led by a sorry *** HC who was 6-7 with 9 players being on NFL rosters along with two 1st rounders.. So to say we dont talent is a lie..real talk
Kaaya threw for over 3,000 yards while missing a game and half.. To you being 3rd in passing in the ACC is not having a good season? im asking..
Whats your thoughts on Richt's hiring?

You seem to have a problem with Richts staff..Why?

Absolutely not ! I'll be happy if we just get into the ACC championship game. ie getting past North Car.
 
I think we have the talent and coaching to win the ACC and make the playoffs. Honestly I'm putting it mostly on Kaaya to get it done.

If we lose Elder to injury we literally have nothing at CB.

A QB that refuses to lose can make up for weaknesses in other areas of ur footbal team.

But even though we lack depth at the cb position, imo we have talent beyond just Corn Elder. Shedrick Redwine is a cb I think has a high ceiling. Jaquan rotating, and Michael Jackson as well. Im still holding out hope for JC Jackson which would resolve this issue cpmpletely.
