Listen, we’re trash with a trash HC.. yes. But what the **** is the real issue with us and the ACC refs? They make bad calls through out the league.. but something else is going on when it comes to UM games.

This is easily one of the worse no calls I’ve ever seen. You even have the game announcers wondering what seems like weekly wtf is going on too.

these refs have cost the university millions in $ , but the U just takes it.

My favorite part is the ****** crew we get that runs cover for them.

because they don't want to get suspended from a great gig, but the head referee they had in studio, called it PI.

The first play should’ve been off setting penalties, giving us another crack, but this specific play was the correct call. It’s the same call we got last yr vs. UL w Ward that their fans complained about. As long the QB has control of the ball & his arm is going forward, even if the reason his arm is going forward due to the momentum hit from behind, they r going to get the benefit call.

This call is the new “gather step” that the NBA allows to justify traveling.

the first play isn't offsetting, the called of holding on Francis was crapped, the DE fell down by himself. Bet you a $ if it was us and not SMU, that would have been called inconclusive, and it be called a fumble

Too sick to watch this game back but friend at the game told me they picked up a flag on the Marion PI? Why? Uncatchable? Isn’t it a hold regardless. Pulled at his jersey. What in the world is the explanation? I didn’t even think one was thrown.
Not following that sequence. And not sure Francis was much of a hold. Guy kinda just folded right in front of him.

The lightfoot penalty could’ve went either way. He held him up - kinda BS to call that in that situation. We’ve had a lot worse not called against us this season.

There was one official in particular who seemed to go against us on everything but I don’t want to sound like some conspiracy theorist.

Everything that could have went wrong today did.

We really need to leave the ACC--Big XII, American, etc. it don't matter. We will never get a remotely fair shake in the ACC. I should stop watching until we leave because we're playing in a rigged league and it isn't even subtle.

**** we got a better called game from SE referees, when we played Florida. Yeah they blew the Marty's run, but outside of that, it wasn't so controversial.

The commentators wouldn’t shut up about that missed FG and were almost insinuating we caught a break. Kept showing replays of it. No replays of that fumble they took from us or the DPI debacle from what I recall.

Our players don’t sell it. It’s a game IQ thing. Yesterday I saw a OL 2 hand shove C Smith around a pile up. Smith just points to the official who moves in between and gives the OL a talking to. Compare that to the Mauigoa shove against LVille where the player went flying like he was shot out of a cannon. Francis is strong but not that strong.

Point being until Bain and the others start selling it they’re not gonna get the call. You have to make it look obvious.

I think most of them are obvious, if we start selling it, the refs would probably start calling us for some BS unsportsmanlike nonsense.

Would be nice if Mario had the capacity to work the refs. Instead he’s trying so hard to understand what’s going on X’s and O’s wise, he can’t do anything else. He’s in a constant state of confusion.

You're not getting that my beef is with the lack of penalties called on opposing teams when they play us compared to when they don't play us.

Refs should call penalties on us when we commit them and they do and they also call plenty of borderline ones against us too. But they don't call the other team the same way and the stats back that up.

They call far less penalties on teams when those teams play us.

Bingo, and false starts half the offensive tackles we played leave their stance early to stop our ends, and it's obvious

Great idea, but a lot easier in NFL for it to be a full time job. Lot more refs required to cover college games. Unfortunately, the system is a mess & no easy fix. That’s not good when coaching jobs seem to be on the line every week & with a booming sports gambling industry. Instant replay was supposed to help, but some plays are reviewable & not others. The stoppage also ruins the flow of game. Biggest gripe is the claim - “not enough to over rule the call on the field.” That’s nonsense. Use replay to get the call right.

Great someone mentioned that the head of referees for the ACC, was kicked out of the NFL for incompetence. Just curious if this is correct.

We should never leave a game in the hands of the refs. Period.

Our game plan has been horribly predictable and by extension easy to defend against. If it's because Beck lacks the ability to process and make throws is not for me to guess. I'll say I'd much rather see Emory or Luke or whoever is the worst QB on the practice squad miss receivers than Beck throw picks.

That said, the officiating has been horrible. The decline is across CFB, but definitely seems to be worse against us, maybe because I'm paying closer attention. Part of me thinks refs are now using replay as a crutch and have lost the quick thinking skills as a result.

the problem with penalties, is they may have a one off, every season, it's like ours are every game. Good grief every tackle across from Bain, seems to leave early .

The SMU tackle was taking his kick step and another backstep before the snap conservatively one third of the game. Never called.

The worst part is that they called it, but then picked up the flag and said that it wasn’t PI. Then they threw a second flag and said that it was holding on our OL. Total corruption.
