Can we call a Spade a Spade on Bubba Bolden?

Decent to good player that doesn’t fit what Manny wants to do. Gets zero help from Gurvan. Per usual the longer he’s here the worse he will get.

Wait which guys do you want back?
Talking in generalities my guy. We've had so many players leave that shouldn't have and could have helped the team if they stayed. Bandy, RJ, etc plenty. Idk who all on this year's team goes at the end of the year when they shouldn't but I am sure at least one player will leave even though it hurts both us and them to do so and this season is going to be the perfect argument for them as to why they shouldn't come back .

He has not looked good this year.

No one has looked good this year. Who here has been stepping up on the field? Maybe Chantz Williams. TS has been solid-ish. Outside of that, we may as well bag on the whole team. And when the whole team's playing bad, it goes back to coaching.

These are talented players. And year-by-year they're getting worst.

I don't see the point in specifying individual players at this juncture. They're all plagued by the same thing.

Nonsense, Diaz has had plenty of safeties play well here. Plenty have gotten drafted off his defense.

He just isn't that good. He is what maybe a 5th rounder right now? Had Johnson, Redwine, Jenkins not played well you could blame coaching.

I agree I think most of the problems we see stem from the coaching and mindset that Diaz sets for the team. It’s clear they don’t fear his response to mistakes and are not bought into his system.

Redwine had Jaquan....Jenkins had Carter.

No coincidence all of them are either currently in the NFL or were there at one point.

Hall wont even get a rookie minicamp invite.

Not hard to figure out why Bolden is not looking as good as we all know he should.

I really want to see what Hall would've looked like had he committed to Bama. Did Saban just make a crap evaluation? He's not perfect, but he's more spot on. But Saban doesn't fly on a helicopter to see just any recruit.

I think safeties are asked to do too much in this D. We use safeties to run blitz, rush the passer, and, because of our poor DE play, contain. Also, our LBs don't get off blocks, which forces our safeties to have to be more active.

In most defenses, Bubba would be our actual last line of defense. Here, he's all over the place. At the very least, he's a willing and capable tackler, which stands out on this team.

I disagree, he is one of the worst tacklers on this team. He flies in out of control and tries to ankle pick every tackle attempts.

One of the few dudes on our D that ever flashes. He is maddeningly inconsistent and, like everyone on this defense, goes for the kill shot too often.

The Clemson game was the closest we've had to a safety looking like a first round player in what, ten years?

Probably doesn't start for many teams in the Top 10.

He was a Top 100 recruit prior to transferring, but our fanbase treated him like he was a can't-miss-one-in-a-decade player, and are now frustrated he didn't live up those expectations.

LOL @ this take. Who on this team do you think starts for a top 10 team? That isnt saying much at this moment.

He would have gotten far better coaching. Doesn't mean he'd be a 1-2 round pick but would have been a better player.

I'm not sure if this has been touched on (I'm sure it has) but i don't keep up on the board like that but......
On a team full of bad tacklers he might be thee worst. Our Safeties never make plays on the ball in the passing game either.
Why is he so hyped? Before the season i heard some ppl saying he could go 2nd round. I don't see that at all!
He was hyped because his highlight tape from the first half of the 2020 season WAS that of a day 1-2 draft pick. No question in my mind. That tipped ball play he made against FSU was a pro-level highlight. He had a bunch of great solo-TFLs, 4 forced fumbles, 1 Int. He got banged up last year and really hasn't been the same since. No clue what's going on, because I still believe he is extremely talented based off of what we saw from him in spurts last year.
