cam ward's leading receiver ran a 4.89

This is always funny, so you’re asking me how would the guy who was an all american play over on a team with no all Americans and no wr who has produced more than him?

Did ward have a top offense before here, he played 4 years before here was he considered one of the greatest qbs in cfb history? He had way faster wrs than X did they ever produce as much as X? Where are those faster wrs he had now? Are they on nfl teams? What about marion he is faster than X did he get drafted? What about rambo he faster did he get drafted? What about jeff Thomas he faster than everyone where is he? You see how dumb this logic is?

Because our current wrs run faster you think for some reason they won’t end up on a nfl practice squad too? Just dumb logic to hate on a great cane, every off season its the same ****

When he was making big and clutch plays no one ever said hmm i wonder what he will run in a 40 yard dash. Yall said the room was elevated last year too because of similar reasons and what happened?
a fellow night owl ...
my position takes nuance ... but if all were equal with no pre-existing accolades, despite how good x was, he doesn't get the same snaps in our current room

and my op never spoke down on x, his 40 time is verified, we all saw it ... but you make a fair point when you say there are plenty of guys that have speed that don't make a team ... you also make a fair point about x's year prior to cam ... with that said, one guy in this conversation is considered the best at his position at the university of miami in 20+ years ...

and he still threw for 4k ... let that sink in

edit: no shade at x, but i think this speaks to the greatness of cam and how we've elevated the wr room
Restrepo ran that 204 +lbs
I’m willing to bet 190 lbs Restrepo
Runs 4.68. He came to do that 40 uncharacteristically unprepared.

Restrepo was just too heavy for that frame & there are technical ways to improve a 40 (not considerably ) but could shave.

I don’t think the Reatrepo we saw on the field was a 4.8 Guy in pads.

For what is worth.

Another way to downplay X, like yea lets take away everything he did on the field lmao wtf

And Yes he does still play, you not understanding that he does is why your take isn’t nuanced at all. It seems the root of this take is speed and what you think athleticism is. That is leaving out all the nuance it takes to be a great wr, X would still be the best separator on this team and only toney is close and even he is still raw compared to X

Nothing toney did as a receiver this past year was something X didn’t do, he even did it with tvd lmao. Saying an all American wr doesn’t see snaps on this team is plain stupid

is it possible to point out facts without it downplaying a guy?

if we can't agree that the athletic profile of our wr room has improved then we can just agree to disagree

The stupidest thing Restrepo ever did was run a 40 at pro day. If he leaves then guessing, he probably gets drafted.

I’ve said it before that he definitely has run much faster 40 times or he would never have done it at the pro day. Rather leave them thinking you might be slow than prove you are. I don’t know if it was injury or too much weight or whatever but you know dude was likely consistently faster in previous attempts.

Did he ever look slow on the field? I’m not asking if he looked fast. I’m asking if there was ever a time you saw Restrepo playing and thought “****, this dude is too slow”. Because there’s a big difference between being “not fast” and “slow”.

Hope he can get out of that terrible franchise. Can go down as 1 of the greats.
Looks like they're at least trying to get better on paper. Ridley, Tate and Robinson at WR. Not a bad trio. Helm isn't bad. RB room has potential. They brought in ~10 new OL. Daboll isn't a complete dummy.

i wasn't out to throw shade at x ... spoke facts in terms of his verified time ... two things can be true ... he was a good wr but also his athletic profile is below those of our current room
