Cam Ward was a stud, through 2 games

No comparison between the two. Beck does seem comfortable and balanced in this offense which only shows how bad Bobo is as OC

Two different QB two different styles. A better discussion who had better receivers. Right now as a whole I take this year’s receivers vs last year.
 
Believe the game plan was to not reveal any new offensive twists (although we did get the TEs involved more this week).

That's a money match-up of our superior athletes against their lower-tier athletes on the outside. Also a way to pad completions, catches, and yardage to keep everyone happy. And like one of my old coaches said, "Run it until they stop it."

Cam had to do Cam things last year or we lose probably 4 games. You can't compare what Cam HAD to do last year vs what Beck is able to do this year. Different situations call for different approaches. In my mind, it's that simple.

two things, why do you think we're unable to accomplish those things WITH taking checkdowns ... second, why do you take this thread as a slight to cam?

And that was my biggest issue with Cam, he would never take what the defense gave him and if he had done that, we win that Georgia Tech game and we’re playing for an ACC title last year. I’ve been saying it all off-season, we will not have to worry about that with Beck. With Beck out there at quarterback, I’m calm, when Cam was out there, it was like a roller coaster. And that’s not a dig at cam, he was great, but that style quarterback play is hard on the nerves.
 
I may have undersold Beck. I was pretty indifferent about him during the portal process because of how he played in 2024. He has looked real good so far, hopefully it continues. He will have to put the team on his back in games this year and lead them to victory. I'm still not sold on the defense. we are going to find over the next few games.

It's a different mentality/approach.. Cam needed to press and it's possible he was told to press. You worded the thread and title as a slight. Cam was a stud, BUT... left yards on the table because he wouldn't do something.. How can I take it as anything but a slight?

Happy with the accuracy. Thought Beck could have been better against ND. Not an issue here, and the WRs caught the balls. Much prefer that to a couple of bombs - those can come later.
 
Beck looks like college version of Tom Brady, standing tall in pocket, making quick decisions, ball comes out really fast, and he is accurate with lots of short to intermediate throws.

Ward was like Patrick Mahomes, moves around has big arm, athletic and playmaker.

Both elite college QB's, just different styles.
