Tl;Dr last year in nearly advanced offensive stat listed we were in the 90th+ percentile and in many we were in the 98-99th percentile.

We were an extraordinarily efficient offense last year. If we are somehow more efficient this year on offense I will be travelling to the natty game in my new flying car.

Thinking that because we threw the ball a lot last year and will run more this year means this year’s offense will be more “efficient” than the number one offense in the country and one of the best of the past 20 years is, in fact, stupidity.

If our offense is in some statistics less impressive this year, it will mostly be because of a much better defense. These coaches never wanted games to be races to 50 points to keep up with Cal, Louisville, VT, Syracuse, etc. They'd like to establish some early dominance > comfortable leads > then close out games minimizing risk of turnovers, comebacks and injuries.
