C. Raymond for DC

This thread is the classic example of why we dont deserve a good team. The fanbase is just too moronic. Throwing the same names out there for literally a decade. Corey Raymond not only isnt coming here, but his recruiting, just like all other “elite recruiters” is based on his ability to pass bags. we have seen this over and over and over again. do you simps NEVER learn? for ***** sake what do you people do with your lives to earn a living???

Dynasty, Raymond is on the verge of becoming a career defensive backs coach he is too talented for that. I would put an offer out that would allow him to call his own defense, no Co-DC. I still would not hire Raymond because he has no experience as a defensive coordinator that's simply not what UM needs at this moment. That's why Cory needs to make a move to get more overall experience. Cory is already 50 years old. Guys are taking over programs in there early 30's. It's not such a reach.

Maybe he doesn’t have those aspirations. Can’t imagine he hasn’t got that call already

What????

you don’t hire someone who has never called d plays at this point.

jim Leavitt is more of what you should be targeting.

If Manny Diaz is to save his job, he needs to convince the administration that he needs more money to hire better assistants.

now if Corey wants a DB coach/co-coordinator role with an established DC like Leavitt then ok.

LSU is ranked 57th in passing yards-allowed.

Why in the **** are you guys asking for a position that has never called plays to be a DC when there’s a plethora of elite DCs on at lower end jobs like John Heacock to pull?
We complain about inexperience then want a guy who has never called a play or created a defense in his life to be our DC....can’t make this **** up
Calling plays on the defensive side at the university of Miami should not be rocket science. Blake Baker just makes it seem that way. If Manny had a competent OC that he can trust with the offense. More time can be spent grooming the defense and management of the team. How bad is going from Baker who never called plays for a big time P5 defense to Raymond who has never called plays for P5 defense? Shid at least with Raymond you know DBs will be eating, and worrying about, losing 5 ⭐️ DBs would be the last on our mind.

LSU has had 6 DBs selected 1st rd-3rd rd. Since Raymond Tenure 2012-TBA with multiple pro bowl and All pro selections. If you think Raymond has no clout as an elite recruiter without the usage of bags than that’s just as Idiotic of a statement.

Money isnt the issue.

You cant force coaches to work for guys like Manny. He is a NOBODY in the coaching world. Money is irrelevant.

bc they buy them, just like all other elite recruiters do.

james coley was an elite recruiter until he came here and didnt have bags. thomas brown same. the list goes on and on.

you seriously havent figured this out yet????

You aren’t getting any competent coaches on either side of the ball.

He’s at an established program. Why would he come here when manny is in desperation mode and manny gets fired the middle of next season and now he’s out of a job? Look at what would’ve happened to Dugans had he went to FSU before manny fired him.

Only coach you are getting is someone currently unemployed or a former dc now head coach that’s getting fired at the end of the season.

At the end of the day, he would be an unknown. Do we really want that? Enos was the QB whisperer from Bama who allegedly was next up for play calling duties there. Need coaches that are proven in the roles that we are hiring them for.

And this is why no one is ever held accountable and why guys like Rumph stay at DB Coach forever. Because of Excuses like this, I’m aware that LSU have faithful donors, I’m aware that they toss bags, but to say his resume of elite recruiting is made impressive only due to Bags is an extremely lazy take. Also Coley was an ace recruiter until he got to Miami during the height of Al Golden’s Tenure. Never mind that we were going through sanctions, 3 years of athletic probation, loss of scholarships and fresh of a Bowl ban. But yes blame majority of Coley failure here on “not having bags” also Thomas brown was never a liability at recruiting here, last I check he got us Lo? Currently the only 5 ⭐️ on our team. Difference between all of them and Raymond. They don’t have the pull that Raymond does especially on the defensive side of recruiting.

you must be new to Miami boards, and college ball in general.

there is no such thing as an “elite recruiter”. it doesnt exist. winning and money recruit. there is no secret magic recruiting pitch. raymond recruits well bc LSU buys patrick petersons dad a house and gives him a job. he wont be able to do that here.

learn more, post less, genius.

We can only hope but at this point I don't think Diaz could get Captain Kangaroo to come join this circus

Total dream, but Would be the biggest hire in a long time for us, would blow the kuligowski one out the water. Idc that he hasn’t called plays, we need his DB recruiting and philosophies/knowledge of secondary play. Get rid of that striker **** and let’s field a UM secondary with the necessary athletes. Manny could really improve his system with that guy.

Nope coach Kool brought the dline fire back to the U. As a matter a fact I wouldn't mind coach Kool coming back.

Go Canes

Stating “you must be new to ____” does not give your argument validity, so stop enough of that. Elite recruiting based solely off bags is a flawed argument, one that Butch Davis destroyed. Elite recruiter is someone who is able to identify talent and maximize. Ex. A coach who coaches for UCF is unable to get 5 star players to join UCF, but has done a great job of spotting 3 star players with high ceiling and coaching them to all American level. He should be labeled an elite recruiter. Corey Raymond who has also done a great job of maximizing 5 star Talent and coaching them to All American talent is also a great recruiter. Both statements are true, however this “must only have bags to recruit elite” mentality is faulty and stupid. We got 2 blue chip talent coming off of worst loss in program history 🤔. Like stop it with this I’ve seen it not work here before at Miami but work other places mentality. We know we don’t have LSU bags It’s beating a dead horse, but to think that an elite recruiter could not come in and recruit at an elite level if he’s given a “Competent/ Elite HC” is Stupid

It's not just about recruiting, you have to get these kids accepted to the Univ of Miami. LSU is one of the easiest schools to get into.

Fair point and that’s a better argument than the “Raymond would only need bags here to succeed” argument
