I was speaking about College coaching. NFL coaching is a completely different apparatus.Southern Miss fired a coach after he went 0-12 in 2012.
In the NFL, Cam Cameron, Rob Chudzinski and Chip Kelly have all been fired after one year.
Might pin just the bolded paragraph. Here's what's going to happen...
People will spend all week ****ing their pants at the thought we might lose to Central Mich, which will prompt the "Manny sucks & needs to be fired" crew to stoke the flames about how we lost to UNC & we're gonna lose every game we play because our players suck & are overrated, which will then force people to defend Miami & the program.
Then, we'll go out there & whoop there *** the same way we did with the Toledo's & App ST's of the world & people who were forced to defend Miami all week will want to pound their chest about beating a G5 Mac school & the pitchfork carrying "I hate all things Miami" crowd will say how sad it is that people are celebrating that we beat a measly MAC school.
It's a ****** seesaw on this board between the 2 extremes, so every game week will divulge into a civil war amongst fans who either want to burn the program down every day or people who just want stability & can see that the conveyor belt of Coaches method hasn't worked here.
Basically the game will be taken seriously, but in all actuality will be made a bigger deal than it should be because we have an extremely divided & unsettled fanbase, unfortunately.

I could make the argument that a non-P5 school is a completely different apparatus than a P5 school but since we really don't have much to go off of lets talk about about Ellis Johnson then.
Assume for a minute that coaching in Conference USA is akin to coaching in the Atlantic Coast Conference--which it is not. First of all Manny is no Ellis--at least not from what I've seen on the field. Manny's coaching style is not like Ellis' style. Animated and present vs low-energy Jeb and a statue. He already has one more win than Ellis had in week 3 of 2012 and has an additional 9 games left to prove what he can do. Nine more chances to show his effectiveness and nine more chances for which you will not give him. Consider then the context of how Southern Miss went from Conference Champ under Fedora to rock-bottom last under Johnson's stewardship. Even the most objective spectator can see that Miami was no world beater in 2018. Ellis had more than half his team return as starters, rotated more QBs than Jon Richt and had a difficult schedule commensurate with that team. You are, in-essence, drawing conclusions to Manny Diaz (1-2) coming off a 7-6 season as a coordinator in only three games to what Ellis (0-12) coming of a 12-2 season wasn't able to accomplish over an entire season.
Bottom line: Manny shouldn't be fired in Week 3 and it's an absurd thing to even talk about at this point in the season since we don't know how he will perform. What are you predicting Miami's first season under Manny to be? 1-11?
Pressure to win, sure--but I have never heard of a P5 conference school canning a coach in his first year in the modern era for lack of on-field success. Athletic directors generally understand the consequences of blowing up a team every few seasons. This isn't College Football Sim City. Every coach that was fired in a year or less was because of some off-field scandal they were apart of. If you have some evidence that Manny beats his wife, falsified his resume, or allowed athletes access to paid strippers by all means run over to WPLG or WSVN and pitch the story.Coaching in the ACC is even higher pressure than coaching in C-USA. Not sure why you're arguing otherwise.
And going 3-9 this year is almost like going 0-9. FAMU, CMU and FIU barely count as wins. These are really low level teams. These aren't even opponents like SDSU and ECU that used to be our patsies.

Good point there are some “fans” that actively root against the program because we did not hire their preferred coach (see butch, mario, leach etc.) and some that their preferred Qb doesnt play (see Kosi, Tate) all I know is I want this team to grow from week to week and no team should be taken lightly. I dont like the new defensive scheme I will say that. On one play I saw Rosseau drop back into zone coverage and a BCU player catch a pass where Rosseau made a quick tackle. Against ACC level teams I think thats a big gain. I have seen way too many standup DEs rushing the passer.
I think Central Michigan > Bethune-Cookman but it should still be a similar blowout score with lots of garbage time reps for our bench. I am expecting an even better game as Manny/Enos/Baker work hard to tighten things up before we start our stretch of ACC games.
Stats I would like to see for CM:
- Less than 45 yards in total penalties.
- Continue the streak of no turnovers.
- Baxa making every field goal.
- See some forced and recovered turnovers!~
- No sacks.
- Jeff Thomas; 7 catches 125+ yards.
- DeeJay Dallas; 150+ yards on 14 carries. (Gets his average above 10 yards per)
Don't care about the opponent--Improve every week. Get the win and move on to the next.
Miami opens at -29Wisconsin called off the dogs. It was 44-0 at halftime. If Miami doesn't win by at least 30, it's real embarrassing. Especially with a bye the next week, there's really nothing to look forward to.
Wisconsin was -35.....I expect Miami to be at least a 30 point favorite.
Miami wins 48-10.
Miami opens at -29

I'm not understanding your second point. That's a very passive way of saying you are predicting for Miami a 3-9 season. Is 3-9 your prediction for this season? Three-and-Nine is not almost like going zero-and-nine, it is like going three-and-nine.
Your logic applied to Tennessee. "Georgia State and BYU barely count as losses. These are really low level teams. They aren't even opponents like Memphis and UAB that used to be our patsies."
Seriously though, watching the replay of the game, I saw Manny not happy at halftime with the team’s performance in the first half, then saw a much improved second half. That’s good coaching right there, regardless of the opponent. I also saw a Manny coaching and talking to the players on the sideline more times than in the past two games. He wasn’t stoic like Randy. That’s good coaching right there. Then I saw Manny celebrate with the players on the sideline after a good series or a score. That’s good coaching right there. In my opinion, he’s becoming a better game time coach as the season grows. We heard less from their middle linebacker, and we heard more from our D in the second half. Not to be a Debbie downer (as I know nothing about coaching), but I’d like to see this increasingly continue throughout the season. This is what he did as a DC, but does not need to give up now that he’s a HC. Nothing worse than to see lack of effort and enthusiasm top to bottom. In this game, it did not lack. At least, not in the second half. Here's what's going to happen...

We play FAMU this year, too??
Sweet!
I feel ya. I’m just messing around.I meant to say Bethune Cookman. It’s easy to mix up these HBCs from North Florida that we pad our records with every year.
