Bye Bye Corstal? ACC Possibly Moving Toward Eliminating Divisions

*I kid. They made a Sweet 16 a few years ago. Rad's hands were tied!

You gotta think this is the first step in pressuring ND to make a decision whether they’re all in or all out.

I don’t think you see what’s possible with them making our entire schedule every year. Imagine a year when Miami, Clemson, UNC,FSU Wake and Nc State are all good enough to win the conference. Now when our schedule is made we get FSU Clemson wake and Nc state on the road and in a 4 to 6 week window. Now when they make Clemson and UNC schedule they only play on or two of those teams but at home and coming off bye. The schedule would literally be set up to ***** us and help the teams they actually give a **** about. Do u remember the years we didn’t get a holding call all year?!

I'm all for fighting over it on a message board so long as everyone clicks Ads.

In truth, I don't worry about **** like this now. Not sure why I previously did, since I had no control over its outcome anyway, but used to spend time discussing it: poor infrastructure, admin, lack of commitment, crap culture, etc. It's nice to have had Rudy or whomever just make common sense decisions. Then hire an AD leader and pay top dollar for a professional football coach. Also, I barely even look at OL recruiting now. It's nice to get that energy back to use.

Haha. Agreed. I DO like that we can rest assured that at least we'll now have an AD that actually has an opinion about these things and not one that would just wait for the Carolina Mafia to issue him his talking points.

I swear to God that Coach K could've dictated to Swofford how to decide a football matter and Fake James would've just waited to carry the water on said decision.

Wont it be some sort of rotating formula? Idk that they can just randomize the schedule every year.

IT DOESN’T MATTER WHERE OR WHAT CONFERENCE NEUTERED LAMB PLAYS IN….THEY COULD LOSE EVERY FU@KIN’ GAME THE SEASON PRIOR, GO TO A PAID-OFF BOWL-BAN GAME THAT YEAR, LOSE THAT **** AND STILL BE RATED IN THE TOP 10 TO START THE NEXT SEASON…

Absolutely. Exactly why we wanted/needed an experienced AD with either savvy, balls or both, to read these type of plans and work to best situate Miami for success.
 
No more, "we still have a lot to play for. The coastal is still up for grabs after" after week one.

ND's position will not be threatened until the playoff says "we are only doing automatic bids from conferences."

1) I don't see that happening, and 2) until it does, ND will cling to independence. And seeing how their athletic director was on the committee proposing an expanded playoff, their position as an independent is probably safe, and moving to no divisions in the ACC doesn't change that.
 
What a difference 60 days makes. We have won the Coastal exactly one time in the last 17 years and now we as fans are all for combining the divisions into one and letting it be "may the best two teams win". LOL. How about we win the ACC Coastal a few times first before we get the big head. Yeah I know it means nothing but ***** that it means something.
