Butch is plotting lol

LMAO!! That dude is begging for a job, any job at this point.

Weird that he wants to live in Miami again. Didn't he tell Forston "Why would you want to live in Miami" or something to that effect when he tried to recruit him to UNC?

That's not the with what he told Forston. He told that 5* star DT that Randy Shannon days at the U were numbered, and that was quite a prophetic disclosure to Forston.

Didn't he tell Forston "Why would you want to live in Miami" or something to that effect when he tried to recruit him to UNC?

No, that was Doc Holliday. Forston's response was..."If I didn't get in trouble in the Pork & Beans, what makes you think I'ma get in trouble in Coral Gables...".

Note: it was reported everywhere that several Miami NW High School kids, especially Marcus and Sean Spence met with Butch o*n the evening after Sean Taylor's Funeral. Thus, these comments were directly related to Butch.

Another well-connected Canes fan added this: "Butch Davis also told him, why would you want to live down here when all these people are getting shot. Marcus said, " You had no problem living down here with your wife for six years."

love it, hes recruiting against miami at the time. u say what has to be said not be a bytch, he got that urban meyer recruitingtactics. we need a savage on the trail dat says what needs to be said even if its lies *** it.

them joe paterno recruiting tactics wont work down here, its why we miss alotof kids. butch knows and would have five first rounders a year n build a better team then the 00-02 squad

Sounds like a ruthless ******* who will do anything to win. That doesn't fit your Planter's Peanut model of classy mediocrity. But I think most long for that sort of ruthlessness.

Now go ahead and hit me with that Tom Cruise gif.

And thats how u recruit ****. Did you see that empty stadium pic Lamar Thomas posted of No Life, with all the orange seats? Its called recruiting, all this whining sounds like El Foldo

niner tight as **** like we care bout ties and pillars, butch would win no matter how ya portray the dude. fsu n uf would be shut out of sfla. i cant understand y ya dont want this savage as a coach.

Butch did a good job all those years ago, but CFB has changed and we need someone fresh and innovative. Some one with modern schemes and techniques. Some one with a revolutionary training method, etc. not a vanilla 4-3 and pro style offense. This isn't the 90's. We are closer to 2020 than 2000. With that said, Butch (or anyone else) would be 10x better than Golden.

Butch's strengths are recruiting and on field violence. When you put 20 future 1st round picks on the field head hunting, it really doesn't matter what modern schemes and techniques you put against them. How old is Nick Saban?

One reason why Butch Davis will be the BEST for UM is that he'd be the most effective recruiter for UM as he has keen experience in 2 opposite areas. He knows intimately what to say to sell recruits to come to UM and he knows exactly what to say to defend the negative sayings of rivals recruiter/coaches because, well...he's got experience there too.

But this isn't going to happen again...last year we had 8 players drafted and 6 wins, which indicates we had oodles of talent. Butch probably would have won 10 games, but a schematic genius like Gary Patterson, Art Briles, Chip Kelly, etc. could have had us in the playoff. We don't need one of those guys, we need the NEXT of those guys. If we want to go the more traditional route IMO we can't go wrong with Greg Schiano. He built a great program at Rutgers and now look at them. He has vowed to change some things which could put him on the level of an "NFL failure" like Carroll or Saban. Not saying he is one of those guys, but he would kill it down here and would fix our defense and toughen us up immediately. Schiano with a crafty OC would be my choice. He's like Butch, but younger and will be able to adapt to the new era of CFB.

I think we need a recruiter and developer of talent. We don't need a genius. That was Coker. You get all the best players down here your in the playoff every year....at least. Decent play caller winning it or playing for it at least every 3 years

Coker was a genius?

Well maybe thats over stating it. But he was probably the best play caller we had I can remember

Yeap, but Butch's picks included 4, 5, 5, and 6 FIRST ROUND picks in successive years. Plus the other rounds. Not exactly the same thing. Butch's 2nd and 3rd string were later 1st round picks. I could live with Schiano, but remember who taught him coaching and recruiting. Chud is fine also. But we are near death and nobody will be the instant hit high like Butch. Recruits EVERYWHERE will be on duty at their social device of choice to report anything that connects them with Butch Davis even glancing at them. Dude had his share of coaching flaws but when leave a team with Shawn Taylor, RIP, sitting on bench as freshman and Willis McGahee as blocking back that a really bad coach then wins NC with, you are talking about something that needs to be tried again. There is not a kid out there that would not hand up on Nick or Urban to take a call from Butch at THE U. They all would have millions of reasons to take that call.

Not to drive home a point, Gary, Art, Chip totaled up how many NC's? Dennis was the "next guy" and with Butch's earlier bunch of recruits that JJ left him, he won 2 NCs. Once Butch boys were gone so was the genius. Three years of Butch recruiting at THE U and the "next" those guys will tear it up. Butch is old but he is hungry and that matters.

Bill Snyder is 75 years old. Kansas State has been doing fairly well since his return in 2009. I don't think he's "young and innovative"

Oh yeah, and they beat Miami and Al Golden 52-13 in 2012

Butch is too **** old

Nick Saban is 17 days older than Butch. Do we need to list the coaches in college and pro sports who have won championships at their age. I'm sure it's a lengthy list.

butch had UNC rollin until the academic scandal (which he was not implicated) When they played Bama? in the Atlanta that year they gave them a run for the money with 10 or so players out. Many of which ended up getting drafted despite missing the entire season.

Butch gon Butch...dont let the algoldenization syndrome we have been exposed to blind you

Al Golden is a "recruiter".

James Coley is a "decent play caller"

We had the best players in every game last year except FSU but only won 6.

We need a talent evaluator.

We also need a brilliant coach that can develop game plans and make in game adjustments.
