It takes time, especially for a new coach. Let's see where Manny use the team in year 5 before we think about changing coaches. I still expect CMD to make the ACC Championship Game and compete well with Clemson.

Alabama has 14 five-star recruits on their roster and Miami has 2 five-stars. Both of Miami's five-star recruits are freshmen. Alabama also has years of success which means younger players competing against five-star NFL players when they came in.

SO WHAT??

Just because someone else eventually improved doesn't mean that EVERYONE ELSE ( especially Manny) will also.

So, Manny = Butch ...OR.....For all we know, Manny has as already given us his best performance that he is capable of and has NO capacity for improving.

Truth is we don't know. BUT given his past performances, only one is realistic. Manny's catastrophes have left little room for thinking that it's happenstance. It's a continuing totally predictable, hard to miss trend

The same Butch that beat Manny with a bunch of recruits that couldn’t get offers from us?

Is that who we are comparing?

Drop the mother ******* mic. Lmao at this comparison. Propaganda. Butch was an elite evaluator/recruiter with game day flaws, Manny doesn’t seem to be good at anything. **** defense, average recruiter, bad game day.

Pell Grant was how many years?

Mediocrity + NCAA going on 15+ now….

Gets hard to compare at some point.

Hyperbole on top of hyperbole doesn’t equal reasonableness.

Amen brother

that was the single most embarrassing loss in the history of this program

Golden would have won that game. Shannon would have. Coker would have.

and it wasn’t like it was an isolated incident. The entire finish to that season was all you ever needed to know about Manny as a HC

1996 vs. ECU - 31 - 6 (AT THE OB!)

1997 vs. FSU - 47-0

1998 vs. McNabb - 66-13

1999 vs. Vick - 43-10

Then what happened?
Was that Butch or any other coaches 6th year being at the same school running the same shltty scheme that gets exposed by any team with similar or more talent?

Was Manny ever the DC for a Super Bowl winning team? If not, then we need to STFU about these comparisons.

Butch had moffit as sc coach
That’s the difference we started going down hill with lack of development once he left
We talk about coaches but we need to a sc coach that’s going to feed our players the same meat Clemson eats

Butch's miscue was playing Clement over Covington.... not that it would have changed the end result much. The OL was trash....

I will say this. Manny is in Year 3. Let's have a look at well-regarded coaches and see what their worst loss was in Year 3.

Nick Saban (Year 3, Louisiana State)
Actually, he has two that I'll cite as they're pretty close.
0-31 defeat to Alabama (10-3)
7-31 defeat to Auburn (9-4)

Mack Brown (Year 3, Texas)
14-63 defeat to Oklahoma (13-0)

Bob Stoops (Year 3, Oklahoma)
10-20 defeat to Nebraska (11-2)

Pete Carroll (Year 3, USC)
31-34 defeat to California (8-6)

Urban Meyer (Year 3, Florida)
24-28 defeat to LSU (10-2)

Brian Kelley (Year 3, Notre Dame)
14-42 defeat to Alabama (13-1)

For Manny, we'll have to see:

1) Does Miami rebound from this game and put together a ten win season. They're perfectly capable of doing so. Talent-wise this is the best team - by far - on paper in 15 years. There are literally more than twice as many blue chips now as there was in 2012.

2) Where is Alabama on the spectrum of opponents? Did we just get blow out by the eventual national champions, as Mack Brown and Brian Kelly did? That will make this defeat - while still stinging in its magnitude and for some of the playcalling - somewhat more understandable.
We didn’t get beat by Bama, we got violently raped. Big difference. These comparisons are a joke. Would you like me to list the hundreds of coaches who didn’t turn a team around for comparison?

He did get blown out, but dude was bringing in mammoths and ballers in the droves. We arent doing that by the droves, u cant have 2 5 stars a class that **** wont make a difference
