Butch Davis. What happened?

For me, he wasn't my top choice and I killed Butch any chance I got. However, I try to be optimistic in all things and when you think who we could've ended up with (Cristobal, Schiano, Kiffin, Strong, Larry Scott), it's easy not crying about Butch.

Worse case scenario, he underachieves but transforms our trenches from sissies to savages, and stocks the roster with more savages and playmakers.

This is what UM needed to do.

He will come in fired up and ready to go.

He is a recruiting monster. Was at both schools. He had UNC in a much better place . He is part of why they are having success now. He changed the culture, like he will here again.

He will make us play tough again. Intensity will jump.

Hire some good coordinators, and we will become very good, and soon.

Plus he has talent on the team, and most scholarships. He is going to do well with what we have and what he will repair.

Plus he will raise a ton of money for the school, and football program. Tickets, exciting football, merchandise, bigger bowls.

I could go on.

It's our smartest, safest bet.

is it possible that Butch wasn't contacted because teams were scared of what happened at UNC? The UNC president even came out and said he regrets and didn't want to fire Butch but the court of public opinion was against him.

So 4 years ago we had a hall of fame coach winning 10 games and a BCS bowl game? We're not UF in 05. We're a team that's been in the ACC for 12 years and hasn't won the coastal

We have the exact same draw at this moment for a coach as they did in 05 and you know that is exactly what I mean.

Why are you guys acting like its happening? Its not happening and there are no signs that says it is.

Is this going to be a delusion so powerful that no matter who they hire you guys will think its Butch?

Have you completely gone off the deep end or is there some actual proof?

Was hoping for a Patterson type hire, but I can say if it is butch, then I am curious to see what he has learned traveling and analyzing other programs and watching lots of film. I am cool with Butch as long as he has a dominant OC that is not stuck in the past and demands a pro set offense. A pro style offense is not a bad option but it is not the best option due to our recruiting ground. A good OC can give us an identity.
