What a weak set of stats...when he got to UNC he took over a program with very little tradition and no winning attitude. When he left they were beating us EVERY year. That's the only stat I care about.

His final unc team to be that still won 8 games despite the massive suspensions, removals and scandal showed how good they were going to be.

If that scandal doesn't happen that would have been a 11-12 win team IMHO.

This.. People forget or dont know nc was expected to have a big year before all those supensions happened that defense was giving to be elite

U know how talented that roster was? He had finally built it to contend big time..he won 8 that year with his best players suspended to say he wouldve won only 9 at best disrespectful

You see, im a realist. He had one of the most talented rosters in all of college football in 2000 and he failed to make the national championship game.

Theres nothing to tell me that hypothetically, that he would have won 10+ games at UNC. His coaching would have been a shoe in for three loses.

What ifs at the end of the day not define a coaching legacy. Actual wins/losses do. A great coach once said you are what your record says you are.

I love all these hypotheticals about how he would have won 5 NCS at Miami had he stayed and gone 11-2 at UNC if no suspensions occurred. When he actually won 0 NCs at Miami and went 15-17 in the ACC at UNC. He blew a NC in 2000 with even more talent than 2001. My God in 1999 he had largely the same roster and lost 4 games including ECU.

If you want to hear about hypotheticals how would he have done at UNC if he hadn't been cheating? My speculation is he would have lost at least one game more per year.

Difference of opinion on that...I my mind a real dominant team goes undefeated. I am by no means a FSU supporter, but if memory serves me right none of those teams went undefeated. Jimbo and Jameis did though. This is the real problem I have with bamas so called dominance. They have won titles this is true, but they only went undefeated once in the saban era. Not a real fan of that and this year it looks like they have a bunch of meatball teams to play this year. I wholeheartedly disagree with those being the best FSU teams ever. NOVODY remembers #2 .

Those FSU teams in the 90s were on a different level from the 2013 title team. Even the ones that went 11-1 and lost to either Miami or Florida.
