Am I the only person who believes that Davis would have Power 5 offers if ADs respected him half as much as canesinsight does? Honestly I believe Power 5 teams would be willing to simply hold their nose about his NCAA issues and hire Davis as head coach if they seriously thought he was a great coach.

Briles seems likely to get a Power 5 job despite his even worse issues at Baylor. Tressel's ban from coaching ends this year, and he'd have Power 5 offers on the table if he didn't prefer being a university president.

Butch will do well there. It will take a while to build them into a decent program, but I think in 3-4 years they could make some ripples. They will never be UM, but they will improve drastically under Butch. I can see him turning them into a bowl team, which would be their ceiling.

Miami should have beaten an inferior Washington team. Win that game and the computer polls would have had undefeated Miami #1 or #2 .

Miami should have routed a bad, unranked Louisiana Tech team by 30 or more, rather than win a close game that ended 42-31.

Doesn't matter. He choked that season away with the best roster in history, and he would have done the same in 2001. Dude's a loser with a great eye for HS talent.

All he had to do was handle business in 2000 like he should have and we would have been in NC game.

I don't mean a one season deal. I can see them getting 7-8 wins a year over the rest of his time there, once he builds the program in his image. Mario had what, one good season? Butch will have a couple rough years, but I do believe he will turn them into a program that can compete for a bowl every single year. He knows talent, and will get enough quality kids to be competitive.
