Butch Davis to FIU?

FIU needs to hire a spread guru. A young up and comer who can at least make the team exciting even if it's still losing games. Bringing in a 65 year old, who's going to take 4 to 5 years to improve the talent and attempt to run a pro style, power running offense is shooting yourself in the foot.

Brile's son is their best bet in my opinion.

If not, Eddie Gran or James Coley (can't believe I said that) should choices 2 and 3.

I think Briles is probably going to be too hot of a commodity for FIU. Someone is going to throw a lot of money at him. A power 5 may pay him more to be an OC than FIU will pay him to be a head coach.
Hopefully for Briles Jr's sake no one watched the massive diarrhea attack he had at the end of last week's Texas game. Under 2 minutes left, down by a couple points with no TOs that sawed off lucky sperm club member runs QB draws on 1st and 2nd down with a concussed QB. Clock runs out on him.

Les Miles will keep that entire offensive staff when he gets the Baylor job, IMO.

But Kendal definitely ain't his daddy when it comes to calling plays.

If you listed out the career achievements of Butch Davis and it had another name attached no one would be clamoring for his hire. Thats why no other school has hired him.

Miami shoulda hired butch. He was a sure bet to load the roster. Richt looks like he's done. Offense is a dumpster fire

No one would be clamoring for His hire if they didn't know He was coaching with His hands tied behind His back with those severe sanctions.

Under more severe sanctions than that slap on the wrist Saban had at MSU, and during the same time period, Butch did more than Saban.

Swap Butch with Saban and Saban fails miserably.

And the fact Butch Davis did it at a private institution makes His achievements that much more remarkable.

Good now you butch Davis nut huggers can go leave the site and root for fiu. Ok I applaud butch for building the best team ever but remember throughout our history we have a few teams that could be mentioned as such. Remember the U is much bigger than 1 coach we are not penn state, notre dame or whoever else you want to name. We have won and competed for championships with multiple coaches...

Al Golden is gone, why are you still here?

Lets add his former players that are now entering the legit coaching ranks? Dorsey, Ed Reed, Rumph .. anyone else?

Mayne if only it were FAU so I could yell SALUTE THE HOOT

One of the coaches you mentioned will be in hall of fame with the most national championships all time. The other is only a legend in your wet dreams.

Please elaborate on his achievements.

LOL?

Edge & Portis have 22,169 NFL career rushing yds. between them, and those were our probation/severe sanction RBs.

Moss & Wayne have 24,628 NFL career receiving yds. between them, and those were our probation/severe sanction WRs.

That's 46,797 career yds. between 4 players that Butch Davis got during probation/severe sanctions...name me 20 former Saban players that have done that...

I laughed at you initially, but now I feel like an idiot. You've convinced me with those NFL stats that Butch shyts all over Saban as a college HC.

You are a very persuasive guy. I'd hate to be a chick who made the mistake of thinking she didn't want to bang you.

I really don't get why Canes fans hate Butch Davis.

He wasn't who I thought Miami should have hired (Richt wasn't either) but don't understand down right hating him. He did some great things here.

You know Butch was recruiting for Miami just one recruiting class away from a dynasty right? THat was before today's world of recruiting with easy access for the rest of the nation to see what was down here. He's not building that team in 2016. Saban will go dowb as the bes r coach in history and you're saying he couldn't fill the shoes of a guy with one BCS season. GTFO
