Butch Davis - Haters cost us 4 crappy coaches

Butch needs to get in the gym.
Agree both he and same age coach Bill need to shape up like Saban.

Maybe Saban is asking him who the next Calvin Ridley is?
If you read his lips an hands, he's saying "WTF is going on at that clown show UM why you aren't coaching there again Butch...thank god!"

Prime example of a stealth nole.

Gtfoh... Just because I think Butch isn't the one true savior of this program right now doesn't change the fact that I've been a die-hard Cane for the last 20 years through thick and (very) thin. The Butch Cult is strong, man...

Btw, I'm not a Butch "hater" by any means... Love what he did here and if we hired him back, I'd be down to see what he could do. But c'mon guys, stop acting like he's the only one who can right the ship. A young, qualified up-and-comer (basically, what Butch was in 1995) would be a safer bet than a guy who is Saban's age with zero of Saban's recent success.

Yes, quitting your job isn't a character trait that we look for.
So should choose our next coach from the unemployed because otherwise they'd have to quit their current job and we don't like that. Also, we only want a coach that other people want. Seems our available pool of potential coaches is pretty small.

Yes, we don't care if they quit on someone else. And why, exactly, would we want a coach that no one else wants?

Saban and Belick are almost 70 and about to retire so butch can do it!!!

let me go down to the bingo hall and find another septuagenarian who can stack rings!!!!

Butch was a 2x super bowl winning DC and had previously been on JJs national championship winning staff at the U. He was no where near an up and comer.... LOL

Still remember Gio Bernard, from our backyard, running all over us with Butch. It hurt, dawg.
Man i remember clearly that was a unc team with real elite talent that was about to take that next step. They were in a position to have a elite D and were beginning to stay classes then boom scandal hit butch was gone and we got spared.

U could see the respect and talent vs lsu i was like holy **** they pass the eye test and look like sec caliber especially on the lines. It was a typical butch talented squad....maybe not genius with the plays but man it was a beauty to watch. I was super jealous

Exactly and he had most of the top players, including 1st round talent suspended for that game. If the scandal didn't hit, which he had nothing to do with, they would have been a monster.
