Butch Davis - Haters cost us 4 crappy coaches

Dude the muthaphukca "QUIT" what more do you need to hear??? He QUIT the team what more do you want??? Hey quiter do you want to come back and coach again??? Please dont quit on us this time around

It saddens me how far the public education system has tanked, and produces folks who have never been exposed to critical logic - and lack the capacity to make factual determinations for themselves.

It hurts us all directly, or indirectly.

Normally, one may suggest to A**HURT to consult a dictionary - and discover for the first time - the definition of "quit."

But I won't.

I won't.

your patience is admirable .... but you cant expect a humanoid with the IQ of soap and obviously missing a cerebral cortex to do much else besides toss turds and make low gutteral sounds.

You bunch of newbie clowns keep repeating some hearsay crap you know nothing about. Some of us who were there saw what happened.... PDee screwed him all year delaying his contract renewal all summer and through the fall season.

Morons in the ath dept back then thought that any coach could have success at Miami. Afterall Butch was the fifth choice pick when Erickson left. So PDee over played his hand by overloading the buyout on Butch.

Butch had to make a choice of getting eventually screwed by the U or taking 5 times the money U was offering. He did what anyone would do. Take the money.

Butch was a former NFL assistant with Super Bowl rings and he was going back to the NFL after success at the U. He was a JJ disciple and was following his footsteps.

But the reason he left after saying he was staying had more to do with the bad blood in negotiations during contract talks. I don't think he ever trusted PDee and the athletic Dept cucks after the fiasco of getting strung along during contract talks.

He was too much of an alpha to sit around and get **** on by the maroons at the athletic Dept.

He never trusted any of them to begin with...

OK, jenius. Explain the contract negotiations. And timing.

And the previous refusal to Cleveland?

Did UM fire Schnellenberger, or did Schnellenberger leave MIami for more money?
Did UM fire Jimmy Johnson, or did Jimmy Johnson leave Miami for more money?
Did Um fire Dennis Erickson - or did Dennis Erickson leave Miami - and the next year take an NFL job for more money?

Well?

Only UM was responsible for running out the clock on contract negotiations with Butch -

Learn something of which you speak - because you pups don't seem to be able to do anything but regurgitate erroneous crap you heard - from some dumbass.
How many of you that are quick to criticize those that don’t toe the “it’s all the school’s fault” are truly knowledgeable yourselves? Were you in on the negotiations? How many of you have spoken to anyone at the school who was in on the negotiation?
The sticking point here was the buy out. Had it been about the money, he would have been gone much sooner. An NFL job was going to pay more than we were. This was about options. You think Saban is all that concerned with a buyout? No, because he’s not going anywhere. The buyout was an issue because like his predecessors, Butch wanted to coach at the NFL. The school didn’t want someone that was going to take off after a year or two again. Butch kept saying he wanted to retire here, but we know that not to be true. If not, the buyout would not have made the deal collapse.

Good Lord, the Butch sucophants never learn. Do any of you guys realize how many other schools passed over Butch and hired a different head coach for WAY more than FIU pays?!

If you're at a job where they don't respect you and you get an offer for a promotion at another company at 4 times the pay, are you QUITTING your current job?

Butch came into a job that nobody wanted under NCAA sanctions and built a championship team. Unless you were around then, you don't know how bleak the situation was.

As far as the "nobody else wants him" argument, which of our coaches was ever highly sought after?

Uh, I don't know if this was some kind of trick question, but yes, in that scenario you are quitting your current job.

Those people are just stupid and refuse to accept that the NCAA, IN WRITING, cleared Butch of ALL wrongdoing in unc's bull. ****, given their sanction, just how egregious did they feel those violations really were anyway? Mack Brown, Saban and Butch are all practically the same age. Somehow nobody thinks the other two are old and washed up. The Butch haters are impostors who WANT our program failing.

Wrong.....

Or, more likely, we know that he hit lightning in a bottle one time, and couldn't even win a title with that roster. In the 19 years since, here are his accomplishments in college football:
