Butch as Asst HC/DC?

Butch cult, when did FSU fire Charles Kelly? LOL at these clowns shaking in their boots over some old man who has been unemployed for 5 years destroying UM as an assistant coach somewhere.

His defenses as a college HC were very average most of the time, and his biggest skill (evaluation) wouldn't be put to best use as an assistant. Jizzbo has an ego the size of a typical Butch cult member's hockey helmet. No way after all his success he's turning over evaluation to Butch. As far as grinding and selling on the recruiting trail he's already got a younger better version on his staff in Brewster.

He's probably making $100k at ESPN, so anything in coaching would be a "nice bump."

He's making a little more than that but I doubt he leaves for anything besides a HC gig. Has too much pride.

If we give him a mil, give cuz full control of the defense, let him evaluate his defensive recruits, and go out and recruit them (he loves recruiting) THERE'S NOW WAY he says no! Think of schiano at OSU deal.. we can and SHOULD get this done. We would never lose a game lol

Its bad business to hire anyone under you that wanted your job. Would definitely create dissension.
 
If he wants to ever coach again, he needs to follow Schianos lead and take the best opp he's got. Kudos to Schiano for realizing that. I could see Butch back in the NFL as Asst. HC and DL coach.

In all honesty he might not get a head coaching gig. He might have to go back to a coordinator position and work his way back up. He hasn't coached in awhile man. Look at Schiano, who in a million years would think he would coach under urban Meyer.

I'm a huge fan of butch, I would have loved to have had him head coach here again.. but mark was an absolutely sterling hire, we could not have asked for anything better really.. after the nightmare we've been through, we're basically in heaven with this hire

I wanted butch more than anyone but I never realized how the athletic director at UGA had mark's hands tied so much up there, we'll see what he's really like now and I think we'll like what we see
 
Spike, you could not have said it any better. You see it happen when a long time coach retires and all the assistants go for the job and one gets it. They looked at you as a peer and now they are suppose to call you the man? A Few know their place and are professional about it. I just don't see an Alpha like Butch in this stage of his career doing something like that. He really should have been someone's DC for a few years and then he would be a no brainer for some of the big schools.
