Bubba Baxa 70 yard Practice FG

when you're kicking a 70 yarder, they most likely wouldn't be rushing, thinking it might be a fake, and you need to hit it a little different than an extra point. a little more of a line drive. looked plenty high to me.

When you're kicking a 70 harder, chances are he barely gets off the ground at all.:hh9BEeLFGEOeZUWG.jp:hh9BEeLFGEOeZUWG.jp:hh9BEeLFGEOeZUWG.jp

He seems very inconsistent at this point... but really high ceiling.

Was ranked #1 by Khol's but really did not do well at the 2017 National Scholarship Camp recently where they selected the UA kickers.

He was the best KO specialist prior to this camp but placed 39th at the camp averaging 67.5 yards and 3.49 hang time. He hit one 80 yarder but also shanked one at 40 yards... that is the longest and shortest kick of anyone in the top 40.

He came in tied for 19th on fields goals along with 12 others including our former target Evan McPherson. He hit only 4/8 in Session 2.

But, can he kick an extra point ?

He was 26/26 last year.

Yeah on 60+ you need to hit it lower so you can get more distance on it, probably 30 degrees. Extra points you want to angle it high because the distance isn't a problem at all. But still even without a super tough rush to block the kick, I'd say most players can jump 10 feet, as that is the height of a NBA hoop. That would mean that with a 30degree kick when the holders are typically 7 yards away from the LOS, there is basically no margin for error.

Also, just to point out he can still improve his technique, because he takes 3 steps. That first short step he takes with his lead foot needs to be cut out completely. There should be one step with kick foot, then step to plant foot, then kick.

If he could consistently send kickoffs 70 yards we'll never have any returns against us

He needs to change his name from Greg the leg to Greg with the third leg and then, we back, or something like that.

not true, the 1st step is like a quarter step or jab step. 2 1/4 steps is normal for hs and college. they'll time him when he gets here and if its an issue, he'll fix it.

why would we want him being normal.
I don't see Janikowski taking no 3 steps when he launches his field goals 60+ yards. Even if it is just a quarter step.

everyone is different. the jab step is what they teach. it's common. it just gets your body moving towards the ball. it doesn't matter as long as his timing is within normal range from snap to kick.
