2028 Brysen Wright WR Mandarin

What are the scholastic requirements of reclassifying, just curious. I know that knowing anything isn’t really required to graduate anymore but seems like an easy process to just pop up a grade.

That is a school district by school district and sometimes high school by high school matter.

Is there anyone on this site who isn't? I will never ever ever listen to that scumbag.
This should've been in a spoiler OR at least the warning posted above the video. Never would've clicked had I know who the host was.

somebody said because he just turned 16. He’d be too young after his junior season to go to the league.

While all that is super legit,

I have a counterargument-- Who is going to develop him better, his HS coach or Miami's staff under Mario? if he doesn't want to go to the NFL until he's 21, just play in college for 4 years. And I have Exhibit A in Armondo Blount, who was 16 when he joined the team. I hope and expect Blount to stay for his fourth year in 2027. He may be graded out just too high by the end of this season. More likely, though, he'll get a Moten grade of Rd 3 and stay to go R1 after next season.

Life is more than football and money. So I get why 99.9% of student athletes want to and SHOULD stay with their class. I just think the rules apply for the elite guys. They get so much more value in terms of development and NIL by being with a top program than staying in HS. JMHO.
Your second paragraph solidifies everything. For the true elites, it’s exactly as you say. Ride the line for a year when you’re 17, then play three seasons. Graduate. Get drafted high before you can drink legally.

So im thinking if his dad said a decision by December that most likely means a reclass? Idk thought i saw something about he already reclassified and he can’t anymore ? Idk
He could reclassify if he wants to. But his dad is adamant he is not; which makes sense given his age.

If you have a birthday from around July 15th to September 15th, your parents have the option to enroll you in Pre-K where you’d one of the youngest or the oldest children in the grade. The Wrights chose to be the youngest. Because of this, he is already so young it’s as if he already skipped a grade even though he hasn’t.

Bryce Underwood is ten days older than Tommy Carr despite being a grade above him; Carr didn’t get held back, he’s just one of the oldest for his grade. Underwood didn’t skip a grade.

Dad is saying he won’t commit before December and it won’t be super late. That comment was made in conjunction with wanting to watch the season play out before finalizing a decision. Reads to me like it has nothing to do with reclassifying and more like he isn’t going to be making a bunch of official visits and what not next summer because he’ll already be committed by then.

Agreed except I think you’re getting the timeline mixed up. If Brysen is about to turn 16 in a few weeks like my son then his parents had the choice of him being the youngest in the 2028 class or oldest in 2029. Like us his parents originally choose for him to be one of the older 2029 kids until recently reclassifying up in middle school to be one of the youngest in 2028.

Yeup, this is definitely plausible as well. Ever since he has popped onto the scene as a viral recruit, I’ve seen him listed as apart of the 2028 class. He was apart of the covid homeschooling generation so he could have done the reclassification you’re referring to back then if he did not do what i outlined.

Growing up i had a few good friends with borderline birthdays and they all had the decision made for them by their parents, on each side, at the Pre-K level then never changed grades as they grew up so just spoke on what I know.

Oh he was definitely 2029 which is why his dad says he already reclassified up. My son plays travel and Brysen was listed as one of the top players in the 2029 class all throughout elementary and some middle school.

to me, his family seems like the type to make a decision and stand on that. Until sweatchuck starts worrying, I’m not worrying. Just a matter of time and patience.
