2028 Brysen Wright WR Mandarin

IDK Ffrench being processed out has any impact on his recruitment. He knows Ffrench was a 5* WR in name only.

Now if Ffrench gives him intel on the Texas offensive staff and their lack of development abilities, that could play a role.
Why would he know or think that? That is his “big bro,” who he looked up to as a freshman. They made it to the state finals the year prior and lost to Alberto Mendoza and Bryce Fitzgerald @ Columbus. He’s still chasing Ffrench’s school records. Ffrench’s older brother played in the league for a little bit too.

In the same manner, it’s incredulous to me that he would think, or say Knox Anniss would think, Tramell Jones is a bad quarterback either.

Didn't say he was a bad WR, just not a 5*. However, hoping your right though. This does sound like it wasn't his decision.

What happened here? Did he not look the part when he got to Texas? I am assuming they not letting you go if you one of them

They needed to create “cap space,” for the other guys they were bringing in from the transfer portal.

One of the kids that left was Arch’s roommate lol. They got rid of the second and third best WRs on their team from last year. Those two were ranked in the top twenty for WRs portal wise.

Texas lost four receivers in total and only brought in two. They have three freshmen entering; in Ffrench’s class they had 4 WRs including him. Only one was ranked higher than him.

Ffrench had one catch on the year, the five star had 5, another had 7, and another had one. Only the smaller slot w/ 7 cracked the rotation. Three of the four of them are from Texas. Guess which kid they weren’t worried about burning a bridge with? Lol

OU general manager Jim Nagy was quoted by reporters on Monday saying, "We didn't see Texas dropping Parker like that. … That was huge for us."
But Livingstone told reporters on Monday, "If I didn't have an agent, I'd probably still be in Austin right now. That's the truth."

When players produce, schools offer them more money. Texas could’ve matched but they didn’t. Parker visited IU and OU.

When players don’t produce right away, they may get their money decreased, or—their agent can go find them a situation where they’ll be valued more like Ffrench did at Michigan.

We let Colbie Young go because we had Horton ready to go. We let Horton go because we had CJ Daniels ready to go, and weren’t afraid to play Josh Moore.

Young and Horton played well in the SEC, and we’re fine with what we got. It’s kinda a different ballgame with portal nowadays; Jameson Williams leaving OSU to go to Alabama was a good example of this. Leaving a big time school isn’t a sure bet that the blue-chipper didn’t pan out.

Just going strictly by position group; they had six running backs leave — that’s pretty much the whole room lmao. 4 of the 6 running backs ended up at P4 schools.

That cleared the way for them to pay the top two portal running backs a lot. Then they have Derrick cooper and a mid 3* rb as freshmen.

Is this the built in excuse or is he hotdog water? Cause aint no way if he was legit legit Texas letting a dog go. Cause it could be cope

They burn a bridge with Mandarin they can forget about Wright, and they had to know that so my thoughts are he isn't what everyone thought he was. Thats JMO

Cause they can let him go for being *** rather than letting him go for a Texas kid. Doesn't make sense to me, I would bet he is just a guy imo. We shall see

Michigan fans seem to be excited about him and their wr core as a whole with Marsh and Buchanan to make up their trio.. Seem like he will be able to prove himself but I dont think he hotdog water lol

Probably a combination of all the things mentioned. That burning a bridge stuff is always more fan fiction than reality

"It's strange because even when we played you guys at the bowl game, I didn't have any intentions on transferring at all," Ffrench said. "I was pretty much just like, at Texas, I loved Texas. I loved Austin and everything it had for me coming. It was just like pretty much coming back into that winter conditioning. Just going through the exit meetings and stuff like that. Things wasn't, you know, talking like I thought it was. So just normal teams like Michigan receivers and stuff like that. So me and my agents, we talking. So I got in the transfer portal. It was a long talk and this (expletive). But when I got into it, I didn't have any regrets.

"Like I'm saying, I'm here now, and I'm happy. So stuff like that."

Because it looks like Ffrench was in line for a significant pay cut/demotion at UT. They valued him as a recruit way higher than his street price and weren’t about to throw good money after bad.
I mean that’s what i said and people were like nah lol
