Brysen Wright on campus

I beg to differ- respectfully— Baby Jezuz will be option one, granted— but everyone will by spying or double covering him— which leads to opportunities for our other WRs

Don’t discount the chemistry aspect — Barkate has the same I intangibles as restrepo great route runner, catches everything- but also can get open deep as well- to the X man’s forte.

Agreed upgrade from CJ but b/c they have so much experience together I’d expect he gets plenty of looks as a #2 wide out

I apologize if I insinuated he's not going to get plenty of looks. He's going to get PLENTY of looks. But you said he's going to be Mensah's Restrepo. Meaning, the #1 target earner on the team. That will not be the case. Mali will lead the team in targets.

I haven't really dug fully into projections yet but I would expect Barkate to catch about 60-65 balls this year. Mali will flirt with 80+. Regular season only, and obviously with them being healthy for all 12 games.

That’s fair… I’d be thrilled if Mali hauls in 80-100…. And Barkate I can see 60–
There are a lot of open beaks waiting to be fed in that birds nest- as stated here by others- an embarrassment of riches at wide out. Good Lord!

Last year, Beck threw the ball 29.2 times per game.
In 2024, Cam threw it 35 times a game.

That's a massive difference. A lot goes into that, of course. Personnel, game script, etc. But I think it's safe to assume we'll throw the ball more than 2025, but not as much as 2024.

So let's call it 32 passes per game. In 12 games, that's 384 throws. I'd be shocked if Mali doesn't have a 25% target share. That's 96 targets, as a floor, IMO. Last year he had a 30% share. But we didn't have nearly the depth in the room, and we didn't have another kid as good as Barkate.

So give Mali 25% (96) targets...Barkate should get no less than 20% himself. He had a 25% share last year at Duke, as the clear alpha.

That's 77 targets for Barkate.

I think those are decent starting points. That translates to probably about 70-75 catches for Mali, and about 55-ish for Barkate.

I think that's reasonable, and the rest of the team accounts for the other ~120 receptions. But both of these kids are gonna absolutely eat.

Wonder what it will cost us . I fully believe Texas a$m and ND will get involved down the line . The usually suspects $$ drinking the price up .
Just to clarify, by "us" you mean the University/collective correct? I can't afford that ish bro. I got a wife and kids and a couple labs that eat like offensive linemen (they really do got that dawg in 'em) to pay for. When I sell my company, I will consider competing with MasTech for Big Baller Donor status. Til then, soy pobre.

Now that I have my stupidity out of the way, I agree with you. O$U, 8&4, NotreDame and probably the Gaytes will all allow themselves to be used as leverage to drive up the bag. To come full circle though, I'm sure the Mas Bros will step up when called upon by Santo Mario de Columbus Escuela.

I hope those numbers are about 60% of what you wrote because I hope we will be smoking teams out of the building and by mid 3rd Q, we get to see Luke Daddy, Samourian, Daylyn and the rest of the young dawgs get a ton of snaps.

Santo Mario de Columbus Escuela. 😂😂😂

@Dwinstitles how do u know that & we haven’t seen Wingo play a snap of College Football yet?
An educated guess on info we receive everywhere and film, try to put it together to get the truth. Could be wrong but it feels like people are more excited for Wingo over Moore imo. Just a different energy when they talk about Wingo, just like Mali talk was just a different vibe where you knew the dude was about to destroy everyone.

But they say Moore was going stooopid in the Spring & might be the best WR on the team besides Mali.

True but my opinion Wingo is a better route runner than JM, so he is going to get open. I feel like JM is a take the top off and jump, not too fond of those types even though you need them. Wingo has a better route tree imo and will get open more if he gets the playing time.

Lol If its between us & Texas i like us by far
Have we ever beaten Texas head to head for a top tier recruit (5star)? Baxter, Hill, Simmons come to mind as ones who didn’t go our way but if anyone can do its Mario. Hoping for another typical Texas underperformance year because their deep pocket$ are hard to beat straight up.
