You may have hit the nail on the head - especially since it's been preached about bringing former players "back" and getting them more involved then in the past.

True unlike Thrill said, they’ve only invited back certain players. Makes you wonder doesn’t it? If you’re going to open the doors, which we should because damnit the U is a FAMILY, then invite them all back and let them help you develop the current players. The former players take immense pride in the current state of the program, so too do most of the fans. Richt has got to see he’s fighting a losing battle trying to maintain status quo it’s time for changes, massive ones at that, for us to climb out of the abyss he’s put the program into currently.
