Off-Topic Brother Jimmy's Cane Watch NYC Closing

I love reading when someone uses this as an "own" of NYC. It really shows they are just ignorant and don't know how to apply context to statistics. Crime was up year-over-year in February? Wow, can't imagine why there wasn't much crime in February 2021 when only a fraction of the population could get Covid vaccines and those who couldn't largely chose to stay home. Anyone find it odd there wasn't much crime when most people were home?
Its the pearl clutchers. You would have to be an absolute massive ****** to be afraid to walk through NYC because they fear getting robbed or killed.

Totally. Today, in a few hours, restaurants and bars are going to be filled with brunch crowds that aren’t worried one bit about crime overwhelming the city and that’s because it’s a false narrative. Yes, crime happens and that sucks. There’s nearly 9 million people that live in NYC, but crime isn’t as prevalent as the media or some posters in here want to have people believe.

Btw, that Brother Jimmys was packed for big Canes games, but much as the fans, in aggregate, in South Florida fans are front running fans, so are the Canes fans in NYC. That bar would be packed for big games, empty for the rest. And in case you haven’t paid attention, we haven’t had many big games of late.

Not to reiterate, NYC is STILL the safest "Big City" in America...wayyyy more safe than Chicago, LA, Miami, Detroit, etc.....

Its funny because the people that are fooled the most by the media narrative are the same guys who are always saying "don't believe the MSM. Everything they say is a lie!"

The Restaurant trade was absolutely hammered the past 2yrs....from A to Z....especially with staffing...add in the price increase in food and other provisions and it's been a frigging nightmare. I'm friends with many Restaurant owners, and Executive Chefs...is it getting alittle better??, Yes....but it comes along with higher food costs, which in turn is passed on to consumers. Alot of people that I know have basically said, F*ck it....and now stay home and cook more often than not.
