Bret Bielema

**** does his money have to do with him being a failure as a coach. He had an easy gig a Wisconsin. Finish behind OSU regularly and just enjoy the road. He tried to take on a harder challenge and failed at Arkansas.-
Look at Arkansas since.
He didnt do that bad.
Nit a failure, not a success.

He pumped out some high level NFL players.

1. Illinois is a tough job as it lacks a real recruiting base. Most Chicago public kids can't get eligible.
2. Arkansas and Wisky are probably deceptive regarding Bielema's actual ability. Nobody wins consistency at Arkansas and the school has delusions of greatness. Every coach since Alvarez has won at Wisconsin and he's still there as A.D.. He fundamentally changed that program. Bielema left because he thought he wasn't given enough credit for Wisconsin's success.
3. The one thing you can say for Bielema is that he comes from the Hayden Fry coaching tree and a lot of those guys can flat out coach.

I think that’s a **** of a hire for Illinois. He was really good at Wisky before he ruined his life at Arkansas
Was he any better than the coaches before or after he left? I feel like Wisconsin is the exact same team every year but the coaches change every once in awhile.

Good fit. I think Illinois can be sneaky good if they have the right coach.

I though Lovie would be that guy. I expected better recruiting with that NFL name behind the program, bringing instant credibility to an otherwise afterthought of a team. The offense has just been so bad that wins never followed.

At least he is in the Big 10 West. He can complete for division there every couple ys and consistently win 7

It's ridiculous how the same old failures keep getting jobs
Ummm dude had success at Wisconsin and nobody in my lifetime has had success at Arkansas. Hes not in the same category as Kevin Sumlin and Will Muschamp.

Its a good hire for Illinois, yall have some suspect opinions.

Okay.. Talk to me after he’s fired from Illinois

Exactly. Wisconsin is the same program regardless of who is there.

I bet he does better than Smith. I also bet that he does better than anyone your thinking about that gets hired at a comparable program.

Be objective, take them glasses off.
Lovie Smith was an average NFL coach. Doing better than him isn't a great thing.

There are no glasses. I'm just not impressed with him as a coach

Burt Bulimia isn't as bad a corch as he looked like at Arky but I'd be careful in thinking he's as good a one as he looked at Wisky. That might be a program with a bit of a system in place. On balance it is a good hire for a perpetual junk program like Illinois though.
