Let em sleep fam most of these dudes are out of touch with how normal and routine sports betting is now especially with college aged kids..I’d bet there’s at least one player on Miami right NOW who’s betted on the team in some form or fashion ..Sorsby is an idiot & went overboard with it, he’s been a known degenerate gambler at Cincinnati for years n suited up every Saturday but now he’s the devil.. 😂😂😂

Ive already said I think he shouldn’t be allowed to play fam. My beef is with the fake *** reaction by these schools as a result of him being allowed to play this year. If this guy was a bench warmer me and you wouldn’t even be having this conversation & the same ppl who are outraged wouldn’t care.

I’m not defending what Sorsby did it was stupid and he should be banned .. my whole beef is with these schools/conferences claiming they’ll never play Texas Tech again blah blah blah when if this was their star QB they would’ve did exactly the same 🤷🏾‍♂️

- the people claiming signficant unemployement caused by ai are the ones that would benefit most by the government intervening and regulating it and keeping out competition.
- y2k and mayan calender thing was always dumb
- the people claiming Nil and transfer portal would ruin sports are the ones that were previously benefiting most by those being against the rules/punishable.

- He also did in fact break laws. Whether those states/DAs choose to pursue that or not is irrelevant. Which is why he went out of his way to evade those laws (fraud).

- yeah he's a "kid" who ****ed up. Oh btw the "kid" is 22. Actions have consequences. When those actions occure 90k times or whatever it was, including 40 bets on his own team AND INCLUDING BETTING THE UNDER that he "had no recollection of" lol.... yeah you suffer consequences, that should under zero circumstances be < 1 yr suspension.

- The violence/arrests is Not a football issue. It's a legal matter. Sorsbys issue was SPECIFICALLY a Football issue. Therefore it absolutely should be up to the ncaa (or nfl if in pros) to set the punishment. You don't want the NCAA deciding punishments for other legalities that have nothing to do with the sport.

- UGA taking the holier than thou thing, okay sure lol.

Or what if the forum shopped some legal element to say someone who is known to have gambled on his team can’t compete in their state because it would cause irreparable harm to schools and other student-athletes? Now he’s sitting out almost all road games and playoffs. Good luck getting that sympathetic judge outside of Texas.

I feel Big 12 could take action against the school and not the athlete. Sorsby can play and get his money (no irreparable harm) but the school will forfeit any such conference game for playing an athlete betting on his own team.

But what do I know? I’m no lawyer.

We both know the outrage (faux) is because Texas Tech is ******* with the establishment. The outrage on this board is because Texas Tech is a legit playoff contender and Sorsby makes them better.

if youre cool with players gambling on their teams while a member for that team and not think itll impact the outcome of the events.

once the story went public, everyone assumed anyone with a sense would have ended his college career and that would have been it. this guy was still gambling as the starting QB at cincy and at TTU. he claims he never bet on games he played in but he also said he never bet against his team while at indiana which he conveniently forgot that he did

Society on the internet has made it a habit to absolve or reduce blame on individuals for their own choices. Because College Football is a multi-billion dollar industry and because the gambling industry is now a mainstream industry in America, making untold amounts of money and because those two are intertwined, SOMEHOW Sorsby's degeneracy is less.

Tony Soprano, when he finally got a moment with Chris Moltisanti after the intervention, summed up people like Sorsby.

"You lied to me! I told you you were the future of this family, I gave you that responsibility and you looked me in the eye and you accepted it, and you were ******* high!...I gotta worry if you're gonna flip over a nickel bag of white powder!"
