I’m gonna say this and some here may not like it
I’d take path of not throwing stones
I have some insight to a top 20 team right now and MORE than half the players have gambling accounts!
It is EVERYWHERE
I hate to say it but Id bet my house we have plenty of UM guys w accounts
Every **** coach should be having meetings with their players routinely!!!!!
It is a real problem and Sorsby is just the tip of the iceberg!!!!!!!!

This. I'm normally a libertarian when it comes to human vices, but the spread of legal gambling over the last 20 years is crazy to me. At least when it was hard to get to a casino in the old days, it was a trip where you had to go out of your way to indulge your vice. Free drinks, no clocks, hot ****tail waitresses, pumped in oxygen and distracting noises, money machines every corner, no windows, etc. But that was Vegas or AC for me, and I was still getting comped suites at Caesars in my early 20s. Fun times but not healthy.
Having these apps on your phones after a night of drinking is just asking for societal ills with young male brains ....

Not throwing stones? If it is as widespread as you say it is, then it won’t matter.
Why? Because you’ll have to shut down the entire league then - maybe what you’re saying is true, but if it’s that widespread, then it’s affecting so many schools, except maybe BYU and Liberty University, that you couldn’t single out any one institution.

You can't have networks talking about spreads and odds incessantly then get shocked when 20 year olds develop gambling problems. Networks are going to have to stop feeding this beast if we're ever going to prevent it from destroying the integrity of CFB and NFL.

There's a lot of truth in what you're saying.
I'm still throwing boulders at these mother****ers, though, because when it's one of our guys, there's never any benefit of the doubt.
The reality is that he got caught, and none of this would even be a discussion if he hadn't. That's the problem he's dealing with now. I hope the guy gets the help he needs, but I have no interest in watching him suit up.
Gambling, like many other vices, is widespread. It's a behavior people all over the world engage in—a dangerous shortcut to feeling better. It's never going to disappear or be completely eradicated. In the end, it often comes down to who gets caught. He did; now he must deal with it.
He's got millions. He should go gamble on himself and check himself into a real rehab and figure it out. He's a very privileged person. No pity here.

Wow a Texas judge decides that this Texas quarterback should be able to play for his Texas team even though he broke every rule you can possibly think of. Well of course he did. I really don't care whether he plays or not, I just think it's actually pretty funny. I'm assuming if this holds that means that pretty much any player can do anything as long as any penalty they receive doesn't irreparably harm them.

I’m glad this happened.
With all the gambling ads and pundits talking point spread HOW can you punish all the participants.
Furthermore, the NCAA has always been selective in who they punished! Everyone knew what schools cheated yet they only punished Miami SMU and a few others.

There are players who have gambled on their college and NFL teams who are still playing right now. Longest suspension was for a year. Eyioma Uwazurkie is the most notable example.

Lawyers, how does an injunction just free him up to play all season? Doesn't seem like a complicated case here. He admitted to doing it.
Gambling for young men is becoming a bigger problem than ****!!! It’s actually quite scary.
I have three boys and it is definitely something we have to discuss routinely and I do my best to try to have understand it and not get caught up in!!

Gambling destroyed lives. But because it is so predatory and generates so much money, everyone looks the other way. Protect your kids.
