It’s just friends breaking each others balls. Technically that bet is gambling. But if you were his teammate, would you distrust him because of the “bet”?

So with Sorsby, I be interested in knowing what he was betting. If he was just betting on his team to win, I wouldn’t have a problem with it.

Explain to me how betting on his team to win straight up could change how he plays the game. He might try harder to get a W since his money is on the line?

im sure there are bets on cincy while he was a QB starting there along with prop bets. I bet there is more that will get uncovered.

bro spends like 2 weeks in rehab and hes healed? **** out of here. its really an insult to actual people who are suffering from addiction.

on top of that, we've lost players like Jermaine grace and AQM for an entire season for rental cars and this mother ****** wants 2 games for betting on his OWN team/teams.

The NCAA says it would become the first major American sports league to allow an athlete who bet on their own games to continue to compete if a district court were to grant Texas Tech's Brendan Sorsby an injunction allowing him to play this season.

I'm guessing with the number of bets he placed, he was betting on more than my team will win Saturday.

I have to imagine most of his bets were prop bets. How'd you like to be the WR who was targeted less in the fourth quarter because Sorsby took the under on WR's receptions and the next completion to the kid costs Sorsby a couple hundred. Or the RB who needs to hit 100 because Sorsby took the over so Sorsby audibles out of a pass play so his bet hits.

I don't think the majority of Sorsby's bets were him picking his team to win. He was in meetings during game prep and placed bets that would hit based off his knowledge - he essentially could have been CFB's Nancy Pelosi.

Totally agree- if he’s making prop bets or betting against his team, he will always be radioactive. My point was that if he was simply betting that his team would win, I don’t think most teammates would care. At least I wouldnt. If I found out my QB had bet that we would win a game, I would say that’s great, he is super confident. Obviously betting is against the rules so that hurts the team if he gets caught. But in terms of permanently destroying trust, it really depends on whether he was betting for or against us.
