We about to take Miami back to the glory days. Mario is really doing this. Dade county boys are starting to stay home. And we’re taking Cali’s best. Mario is taking who he wants and nobody is stopping this train.
Mario is recruiting like Butch was in the late 90s. It's a beauty thing to observe as a former alum. The only thing left is winning the natty. If Mario wins a natty he could go winless the next year and I wouldn't say a word.

Well

We ll have some leave from the last clsss if this happens . I can’t see us keeping all those cbs from last class and getting the two best cbs in this class .and everyone sticking .
What makes you say that? Gourdine definitely isn't going anywhere. Hall shut down his recruitment and seems all in on the Canes. I guarantee you these kids heard about this way before it got announced

We have 5 high-level power 4 starting corners on the roster this year, and we somehow convinced them all to stay. Trust the staff

This is why Sears is reclassifying probably..best chance to get a starting spot is next year. If he comes in '28 we'll likely have 2 fairly young starters already entrenched and it'll be much harder for him to get PT.

I'd imagine he's reclassifying to become a millionaire a year earlier. I cant imagine it has anything to do with what gives him the best chance to start. He's the #1 kid in his class. If he's even close to his ranking, he would start at every school in the country.

Correct. Honestly, this kid could probably contribute at the college level this year, his junior year in HS. He's that gifted, athletically. There's no reason to play high school football for 2 more years when you can get paid college NIL money now. The only part that I had pause on was, isn't Columbus one of the very few schools who don't even allow their seniors to enroll early? IIRC, Bryce Fitzgerald didn't get here until the summer after his senior year was over. But they let kids leave after their junior year now? I guess maybe it won't be a January enrollment, he will sign in December 2026 as part of the 2027 class, but graduate in May and get to college in summer 2027?

the guy who was the alleged cormani McLain insider on twitter was posting something about DVD and Auburn.iis there any smoke there or is this nonsense?

Maybe. Not sure there's such a thing as an entrenched starter. Best guy plays.
If there are 2 guys who play all of 2027 and do well, it'll be very difficult for a true freshman to come in 2028 and get enough meaningful PT to unseat one of those 2. And the chances are those 2 starters will either be RS freshmen or sophomores.

This year Sears can fight for backup reps just as easily as Wright and Hall etc and earn a starting spot for 2027.

If our WR room wasn’t so crowded with top WR I’d say yea but there’s no reason to put him out there for 75+ plays a game as a Freshman.Remember Travis Hunter went to D2 or whatever class that was so he didn’t take the pounding( pause) for the first two years that he would have gotten in P4
Yeah I agree for the most part. I do think we will find a way to get him some snaps on offense even if he’s not playing full time both ways.

I think he’s about to go on a run like we’ve never seen before though. He’s still relatively young as a head coach and this is his dream job.
